Yep very pleasing, I'd felt the season was starting to be a bit too long for him so to have a good game today is a great result.Western Bulldogs: We exist to win premiershipsComment

Re: Round 19- Williamstown vs Port Melbourne
In the second Grand Final replay, the Seagulls ran over the top of old foe Port Melbourne, kicking four goals to nothing in the last quarter to win by 11 points on Saturday.
It was a much improved performance from the Williamstown side who went down to Port Melbourne in similar conditions in their Round 7 encounter by 80 points.
Watch highlights of Williamstown's fourth quarter fight back on the media player above.
Persistent rain made the contest a scrap throughout with goals hard to come by all day.
Hard, strong bodies were required around the ball and with the likes of Shane Valenti, John Baird and Toby Pinwill lining up for the Borough, the Williamstown midfield had a tough day at the office ahead.
The likes of Brett Goodes, Ben Jolley and Ed Carr proved they were more than up for the task though, helping the home side win the clearances and drive their team forward.
With Port Melbourne kicking with the breeze in the first quarter they were able to make the most of it kicking three first quarter goals, Williamstown had their share of opportunities but were unable to exert any scoreboard pressure kicking 1.5 for the quarter with inaccuracy once again hurting the home side.
Tom Hill kicked the only major of the first quarter in what was a fiery opening stanza.
The rain continued to fall during the second quarter making conditions worse on the muddy Burbank Oval.
Territory was critically important with all players desperate to move the ball forward at any opportunity.
Michael Talia was impressive down back restricting the dangerous Billy Burstin who kicked 5 goals the last time these two teams met.
Despite having the majority of the play the Seagulls were only able to add the one goal through Justin Sherman which reduced the half time deficit to just 3 points at the main break.
Everything was to play for in the second half with the home side chasing a spot in the top 8, Justin Sherman put the Seagulls in front for the first time in the day with a clever goal from the boundary line, but the Borough hit back hard with the next 3 goals to really stamp their authority on the game.
A 14 point margin faced the home side going into the last quarter, on a day where goals were hard to come by.
The first goal of the final quarter was going to be crucial and it went the Seagulls way as Andrew Hooper reduced the deficit under two goals.
This was quickly followed by another from Dylan Addison who was outstanding in first Williamstown outing of the year.
Addison, playing as a defensive forward, firstly reduced the margin to 3 points ten minutes into the quarter and then gave the Seagulls the lead ten minutes later when he marked and goaled to send the home crowd wild.
It was a desperate scrap in the final minutes as Williamstown looked to protect their slender lead.
Justin Sherman capped off a fine performance by slotting his third goal from the boundary line to give Williamstown a 10 point lead at the 28 minute mark.
There was no sign of a Port Melbourne fight back and the siren went much to the delight of the exhausted players and an appreciative home crowd.
Ben Jolley was once again fantastic in his 150th VFL game, collecting 32 disposals in the wet conditions. Justin Sherman and Dylan Addison combined for 5 goals up forward on a day where goals were like gold.
Williamstown now has a week off to rest up before their clash against the Northern Blues at Burbank Oval on the 11th of August.
Williamstown 1.5 2.9 3.12 7.14 (56)
Port Melbourne 3.2 3.6 6.8 6.9 (45)
GOALS:
Williamstown: Sherman 3 Addison 2 Hill Hooper

Re: Round 19- Williamstown vs Port Melbourne
I know Chops jokes about this position being for those blokes who can't play football, but I really like the idea of Addison causing havoc in our forward 50 with his defensive pressure and kamikaze tackling. The likes of Heath Shaw wouldn't know what hit them having a Bulldog forward actually chasing them as they run out of defensive 50. Addison is a more accomplished player than the likes of McQualter and Eddy and these guys very nearly were premiership players playing a similar role.
The one thing that has done my head over the last few seasons has been the consistent lack of defensive pressure in our forward line and seeing the ball trampoline out of there with ease. It is very much still happening this season."Look at me mate. Look at me. I'm flyin'"Comment

If we can develop/recruit another run with player I'd love to see Picken play that role. Not only would he put the fear of God into players like Shaw, but could be a damaging forward with his overhead marking and goal sense.Western Bulldogs: We exist to win premiershipsComment

Maddog's post gave me a good chuckle. Unless the player concerned is called "Sherrin", Boyd ain't gonna run with anyone. Our club was born in blood and boots, not in AFL focus groups.Comment
