Definitely doable, but do we give up too much this year to get it done?

Then again, given our bleak prospects next year does it really matter when we could effectively have 3 top 10 draft picks from the same year on our list in 2014?

Should we give away both first rounders this year for players that won't pull on the jumper for over a year? IMO its too high a price to pay and without knowing what next year's draft would be like the pool seems to run a bit deeper this year.
Yes, but what's a single year in the scheme of things? I'd gladly wait a year for some destiny changing players.
I basically waited this year out with not even a shred of hope just to get the picks in the first place.
I can do another year easy.

Ultimately, I think we should just do the best deal available to us whether it be Martin and/or Hogan. We're going to be pretty bad either way and if we do go down that road it will be an added bonus that we can these guys into an AFL training program. We have control to work on their deficiencies, teach them the structures and get them on to proper dieting.

I could get to like speculating about which young gun we should pick in the draft. We should tank next year so we can recruit as well as we can whilst we are not in contention. The sooner we can beat Carlton the better.

Hate Tanking, does nothing but install negativety into the mindset of the younger players and the group overall.
An attitude that would most likely be irreversible and impact the club for years.
That said with our list we don't need to tank we will get the draft pick next season wheather wanted or not.

Agreed that tanking is a danger to club culture.
By tanking I don't mean that it's preached at the half time address or that it is explicit. Rather, rest certain players, use the season to blood players, take no risk with injuries, have surgeries for injuries sooner rather than giving players injections to keep playing, play players in different positions to educate them, etc. So the year is more about the education and preparation of the players in 'Total Football' rather than winning games per se.
