Indicates that Cordy had a good game with 17 disposals and 10 marks.
Easton Wood also had some good numbers with 26 disposals and 8 marks.
Roberts with 19 disposals 2 marks and 2 goals.

Cheers BJ. Good signs there with Easton, I think he still has a place in our backline.

Perhaps Ayce may yet be ace. Ya gotta believe redemption is not just a religious idea.
Call me an optimist but don't call me late for breakfast. I think Vesz may still show he is worth another year. He had one game in the ones this year and it was a shocker. Maybe it was just nerves knowing how critical his chance was. We have more to gain than to lose by giving him another chance.

He's still fringe 22 for them when they have a close to full list to choose from. Would he be in our best 22? Perhaps, but he'd been very poor for a couple of years and had stalled in his development. We rolled the dice on a swap of unfulfilled talents and came up on the lesser side of it. I was fine with the trade then and I'm not fussed about it now to be honest. Certainly on the lower end of draft/trade mistakes in the last 5 years.

I think Young is our new Everitt and he is better at it.

Is Everitt a golfer? I met Boydy and Akermanis and on another day Eade, playing golf at Box Hil G. C. They were all friendly but not overly gifted or obsessive about it.

It is good but only 2 contested, and only scored 1 behind.
Also his kicking efficiency was pretty bad.

Not sure what his role was exactly, ie pushing up the ground.

Western Bulldogs Development Coach Peter German looks at how each of the Bulldogs listed players fared in Williamstown’s 35 point win over Collingwood in the VFL.

Mark Austin: Austin was solid in defence, his last month has been very consistent. He gave away a few free kicks this week but all in all we were pleased with the result that he gave us in the back six.

Patrick Veszpremi: Patty kicked four goals and two behinds. He was obviously our main goal scorer and was important at times for us with his ability to hit the scoreboard. We were pleased with his performance as well.

Fletcher Roberts: Fletch played a bit at both ends. We certainly want to keep developing him as a player who can play at both ends – at some stage he might settle down in one but at the moment with his development it is really good to keep working at his craft as a tall forward and tall defender. Certainly when he went forward he kicked a couple, so he was important for us there.

Christian Howard: Howie picked up 20 possessions in three quarters. He kicked a really important goal when in the last quarter we kicked about three or four points in a row and he kicked truly about 40m out and steadied us up.

Lukas Markovic: Marko has been playing a bit of forward and back as well. He showed some good signs in both areas and took some good marks. He also defended well.

Daniel Pearce: Pearcey was good again. He had a role in the midfield this week, which he hasn’t done much of. It was good trying to develop him in different areas of the ground, whether it be forward, wing, back and on the weekend it was in the centre clearances and around the stoppages and that midfield type running that we need.

Ayce Cordy: It was pleasing for Ayce to start moving around and he took nine marks and played pretty well as a forward and spent time in the ruck. It gave him a chance to not stay totally forward. I think he relished the fact that he got up the ground and was able to get a bit more freedom to play and not have a defender sitting on him all the time.

Alex Greenwood: Greeny showed some good signs as well. Some of his ball use was really good. He is trying to work through the roles that we give him – either an inside or outside player, so he is still adapting to that part of his game. On the weekend it was probably his most positive game he has played with us this year.

Lin Jong: He came back into the side and he played him as a defender. He used his attributes on the weekend with his speed and his diligence to be able to defend. From Jongy’s point of view he got a bit of the ball and really used it with some good run and carry. It was a good, positive game from him.

Easton Wood: Easton was good – he started really well and was able to maintain that momentum for most of the game. He’s missed a lot of footy, and it’s a big ask to come back and play good, strong footy after that length of lay off but this week was another step forward in his ability to get AFL ready.

Jake Stringer: Jake was injured early in the game but when he’s played with us in the VFL, he has always been dangerous and a goal kicker. His absence took away a bit of our firepower but fortunately the boys were able to rally and find different avenues to goal.
