Well we aren't playing yet but lets start adding any relevant news about the Footscray Bulldogs VFL side here.

Apologies in advance if this comment is out of turn, but I find the title of the board clumsy. To me, the Footscray Football Club is really the whole of the Club and frames every discussion on the site. If this is where the discussion of the VFL side takes place perhaps it is more appropriate for it to be "Footscray Bulldogs" or something.

Could be all alone on this one, or a bit sensitive to issues around the name but just wanted to offer that feedback.

I supported the VFL side being named Footscray as that is where we are based and it is a state level comp, but it's not like the club has been dead for 17 years.

It was my suggestion. GVGjr wanted something a little different. I'm just excited by the reintroduction of the name and wanted it included.

Isn't it awesome to be playing at whitten oval , I personally can't wait for the first game I think it will pull a big crowd, might have to look for some old steel cans to stand on as a monument to the ground.

It was my suggestion. GVGjr wanted something a little different. I'm just excited by the reintroduction of the name and wanted it included.

Likewise Twodogs, I'm absolutely over the moon. Will be a frequent attendee at WO and participant in discussion. Can't wait to see our Club grow as a result.

Look forward to hearing everyone's experiences back at the Whitten Oval. I've never seen us play a match there but I'm hoping in the future now that the VFL team is playing there that I will.
