How did Campbell go? Much forward opportunities? Noticed he had the one goal
Didn't play much in the second half, don't think he was injured just rested. I reckon he'll get a lot of burn next week because Wood will be out suspended.

Did Roberts play most of the game up forward? Any positive signs from him? Hoping he can get a full season injury free next year. A lot to work with

Port Melbourne were god awful and Willy looked hungrier.
Thought Austin played well on Galea and Tutt was prominent .
Campbell was limping around and copped a head knock . Lin Jong did a few nice things and Marko and Vez look like Jakovich and Darren Jarman at this level. Love to see German coach our reserves team.

That is an odd thing to say when he is an assistant working under Macca now ie the Bulldogs development coach
Why would we employ German in a development role?
To me both coaches have the same ethos .
I know some here have the romantic notion of one of our own coaching the side, but I reckon German would be perfect.

Agreed, for the best interest in the players coming through development wise, much better being in a strong winning side/culture and to me, that also means bringing in some quality players as VFL Footscray listed players for the kids coming through to play with and along side of.
The last thing Footscray want is just a very young side being belted and bullied by other VFL teams.

Phil Clearlysaid at half time of the Weeribbe/Casey match that, shock horror, Footscray had not yet appointed German as coach. He was of the opinion that this was a disgrace and unfathomable (OK my interpretation). He went on about it, obviously he had thought about this issue as important and said it was not good for Footaball. Love his passion.
