    The 2013 Draft Order

Melbourne are still in the hunt for a priority pick but currently this is the order.
Adelaide and Essendon are out of contention. Any compensation to FA could also change the order.

    2. Melbourne
    3. St Kilda
    4. Western Bulldogs
    5. Gold Coast
    6. West Coast
    7. Brisbane Lions
    8. North Melbourne
    9. Greater Western Sydney (activated compensation pick)
    10. Eighth-placed team after finals (Collingwood)
    11. Seventh-placed team after finals (Richmond)
    12. Sixth-placed team after finals
    13. Fifth-placed team after finals
    14. Fourth-placed team after finals
    15. Third-placed team after finals
    16. Runners-up
    17. Premiers
    18. Gold Coast (activated compensation pick)

Barring any new tanking, rampant injection program or salary cap indiscretions between now and then...

Is GWS pick 9 because of an on trade of a compensation pick?

For what it is worth (not much) Adrian Anderson doesn't think Melbourne should get a priority pick.
More of an In Bruges guy?

I feel that in a season that the AFL has had integrity fly right out the window, they'll be careful not to exacerbate the problem.

The Pick 9 for GWS originally comes from the GAJ compensation for going to GC.

Geelong traded it to GC in 2010 for pick #15 in that year's draft. GC then traded it to GWS in 2011, along with pick 4, in exchange for the right to draft Jaeger O'Meara and pick #31 in the 2011 draft.

The GC end of first round pick is originally from Adelaide for Nathan Bock. It went to Richmond for Tambling and then to GC for pick 26 and a 2nd round compensation pick.

There are 4 more compensation picks still as yet unused, two for GC, one for GWS and one for WCE.

And after all that the Saints only have 2 x first rounders?? I'd be frustrated if I followed that team..

                  Fisher staying with Saints.

Collingwood are very good at drafting time. Last year they had three first round picks, this year two in top ten.

So far. There is a good chance they'll trade it away for Longer

They certainly are. Also gave up a 3rd round pick for Jessie White.

Also look like landing Taylor Adams (Character not so good, football ability apparently good) for Heath Shaw.

They identify what they want and they go out and get it.

Have to assume WCE believe the player they were targetting at 6 will be available at 11 (that's possibly Sheed). The extra 2nd round pick allows them to take what might be their last live pick earlier in the draft which could be important as the draft supposedly drops off in quality a little earlier than usual.

Not saying I agree with the trade but that would be their reasoning.

Yeah, it seemed a bit odd to me too but I think they're backing themselves into get their man at 11, so it didn't hurt them.

Collingwood have positioned themselves very well.
Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?
