    Sanfl 2014

Former Brisbane listed player Callum Bartlett and multiple Magarey winner James Allan have both signed up for Norwood for the coming season.

T&T will be upset - Glenelg were chasing him pretty hard from all accounts.
Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?

    yep!

Boo Norwood, still $alary cap cheats The Bays definitely had a big crack at getting Jimmy Allan, and supposedly he was very close but oh well.

Hopefully they will spend the $$$ on snagging a KPP, Glenelg has done really well getting

    Sam Lonergan (Essendon/Richmond)
    Patty McCarthy (Carlton)
    Nathan Stark (Melbourne)
    Aaron Joseph (Carlton)

We have a new coach (Nick Stevens) and a new Footy Manager (Matt Lokan). I've met them both a few times in the last month and both seem like good men.

How's Adelaide having a stand alone reserves going to affect the SANFL? Good, bad, indifferent?

Yeah not sure, jury's out. Ask me in twelve months. I was dead against initially but generally ok with it now. There's a vocal minority who feel it's worse than global warming but overall I think many if the non hard core fans are ok or happy with it.

Glenelg just signed up this lad

Tall forward who is strong overhead on the lead and in contested situations. Kicked 51 goals this year in the TAC Cup, being a joint winner of the Morris Medal. Represented Vic Country in the AFL Under 18 Championships.

Any suggestions as to why he missed out on being drafted?

He was an over-ager. Thought he offered a bit and probably was at least worthy of a rookie spot. Needs a bit of work on his body strength, but Josh would seem to be a great pick up as a medium roaming/roving forward. Doesn't play overly tall.

Doubt he'll last long in the SANFL if he continues to build on what he's done at TAC level. It's likely a suggestion move from recruiters to strengthen his overall game/play against hardened bodies.

I've only seen him play a few times, but I liked him. Just flashes in and out of games a bit too much during the Champs and needs to add the midfield string to his bow if he wants to make the transition to AFL footy.

He'll be a handy player for you this year I'd say.

Cheers. Our new Coach at Glenelg (Nick Stevens) coached him last year @ Gippsland (i think)

Adelaide had a 71 point win over Sturt in a trial yesterday, hopefully that is not a sign of what is to come. Fingers crossed it was more of a case of Sturt being bad/missing players, rather than Adelaide being strong.

Hopefully Sturt are Crap. But the "Crows" will start strangely and then fade as injuries hit both their senior team and the state league team. (I hope)

Glenelg has their first trial v CDFC next Saturday

Season starts Thursday night, with Port / Norwood live on 7 Mate

Glenelg starts Friday night v Sturt

Young Josh Scott and Tom Muir (from TAC Gippsland) both strong chances to debut.

I know you are not supposed to read too much into preseason form and I know that injuries at AFL level will rob them of players throughout the year, but the Crows and Port have both been in ominous form. I am praying that they are "around the mark" of the other teams and they are not daylight ahead of the others.

Ps It's great to have SANFL back on TV at "Prime Time".

Power reserves have been , the crows reserves have lost their last two matches. Port Adelaide will be very good this year. Their top up players much better than the crows

The south v glenelg Good Friday night match is live on tv as well
