I'm happy for Nick ... disappointed he was cut at the end of last year, but glad he will still wear the tri-colours in some capacity.

      This makes me very happy.

For some reason the AFL industry looks down on those who set very good players at the next level down, but these guys are very good at that level. The leadership and maturity they bring to the table will ensure the culture being built by BMac filters well into those playing for Footscray.

P.s. I can't wait to yell 'sons of the scray' at the WO.

I hate having dual captains. Good luck to both guys.

Why do you hate it BAD? Should be fun watching Lower trott around and annoy people. Marko is a good kid. Just a bit unco, but gives it his all. Great time to be a dogs fan.

To me a Captain is just one person not a shared responsibility. It's like saying we don't have any one good enough as a captain so we will share the role.

I tend to agree with you. There might be a reason to have dual captains for a season as part of a transition to the captains position for a younger guy but in this instance, and especially because it's an affiliated AFL side, it doesn't apply. Given this is a start up club I think maybe there is some merit in it for the first season. We have loaded up on some very experienced and good guys so there will already be a number of leaders on the ground at any time.

I too am not a fan of dual captains but if we have to have two i'm happy it's Markovic and Lower. Well-respected and hard working individuals.

Agree with this. If there are two stand out people who have different things to pass down to their team mates make one captain and the other vice-captain. All through my footy days we always knew and respected who the vice captain was and what he had to say. I reckon it takes a bit of authority off the captain position but maybe that's what their after e.g. sharing the role.
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.
