Anyone get the scoop on Pearce? Looked like a leg injury to me but I didn't get the best look.
Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?

My votes today would be Hunter, Johannisen and Redpath

I hope all those that went avoided the spit.

For those that watched Hunter and Honeychurch would be almost certainties? Redpath? Any chance? Darley?

Shame about Pearce. Hope it's not to bad, the kids needs a break (no pun intended)

Hunter was a cut above today, I'd struggle to differentiate between a number of others.

Prudden had a few good moments, and I thought Darley did some good things too.

I'll put up a more detailed report a bit later.

Had his left leg heavily strapped before the incident although walking around the boundary line on crutches he seemed to be favouring his right leg.

He was very emotional so assume from his reaction that it might be a long termer.

Hunter, Johannisen and Redpath best for Dogs IMO.

Hunter outstanding across most of the game, Redpath good for most of game when it was in our half and JJ got better as game went on Hunter is so clean in possession & has great vision. I thought Stringer was good in second half (he sometimes get's a little cocky however still extremely talented - a bit like Hunter actually).

Honeychurch was v. good in second half with a few goals and goal assists. I think Honeychurch is going to be something special for us as he has terrier like qualities and footy smarts way beyond his pint sized demeanor.

Campbell v.good in first quarter. Cordy looked ok - still wish he'd learn to put his long arms above his body though. Both pretty good in the ruck too.

Prudden is tough & Darley looked classy at times. Jong & Greenwood & Pearce (prior to injury early in 4th qtr) all had moments too.

I was on opposite wing but it looked like Pearce's knee or lower leg and it did look serious.

Having seen the game today I continue to be optimistic about our young talent.

I think the players likely to get a call up to seniors are (highest to lowest):
Hunter, Honeychurch, Stringer and if Roughhead is out obviously one of Talia or Roberts will get call up.

Both backmen were pretty good although both still seem a tad slow which is problem in the seniors. I like Robert's measured approach though. He seems to do the right thing most times and somehow creates a bit if time/space with out being flustered.

Personally I would love to see Redpath get a go in the seniors. Against Melbourne I think would be perfect. He seems to clunk marks really well, or create a spill to help the little guys out. Has quite a presence. Not sure about his pace at senior level but one way to find out thought !!! Hope the coaches give him a go. IMO he will never be more ready than he is right now.
                Josie :)

                Our day will come
                And we'll have everything.

Doesn't sound great, hope it's not a long termer and wish him all the best for his rehab.

                  Some thoughts:

Hunter - played a really solid game, spending time on the ball and also drifting forwards. His disposal was generally clean and sharp, well rounded game. I think he comes into the seniors this week.

Stringer - wasn't a dominate game, but did some good things. Showed a great turn of pace in the third and had a few classy touches.

JJ - played forward a bit and I think he might end up doing his best work as an attacking wing at AFL level. A solid performance.

Honeychurch - didn't get a lot early but played a very good third quarter where he got involved and looked dangerous. I think his form across the season puts him in line for a promotion this week, but it wasn't his best game.

Campbell and Cordy - both did some good things today both clunking a few marks. Battled well in the middle against Grundy. Ayce showed some good mobility at times, and Campbell did some good work around the clearances. I think they'll form a pretty good duo for us in the longer term.

Darley - had a pretty reasonable game I thought, uses the ball well and was working hard to create an option. There's enough to like about the package he offers.

Redpath - started really well with a lot of involvement and got a bit quieter as the game wore on. He's still a little way off being in the frame for selection, but I think his leading looks improved.

Talia and Roberts - both did some good things defensively, but wouldn't say they were standout performers. Talia's kicking can still be a bit unreliable. Roberts did some good things by foot, albeit he didn't gather a lot of the ball.

Fuller - didn't really impose himself on the game, but made a few good defensive efforts/spoils.

Goodes - also did some decent things, but undid some of his good work at times with poor disposal. He's a solid contributor at VFL level and if he isn't given another contract next year, I'd like to see him stay involved at the club and play another year or two at VFL level.

Greenwood - thought he was pretty good, but I just can't see a spot for him in the senior side because of his size.

Prudden - not a bad first game back. Did some good work in the clearances and is developing into a pretty solid framed player who'll be a good blend of inside and out. Hope he gets some continuity over the balance of the season.

Howard - just a standard game from Howard, he just can't seem to consistently impact the game. Gets found out trying to get back onto his left a bit too often.

Pearce - his disposal let him down a few times, but I thought his work rate and some of his defensive efforts were really solid. He's a player that is almost there. Hope we get some good news on his injury tomorrow.

Young - knew I'd forgot someone. He was ok, did a reasonable job down back and showed some poise at times with ball in hand.

Nick Lower loves a bit of the biff and it was great to see him getting stuck into a few of the Collingwood players, brought a smile to my face.

I did not realise Redpath was playing against a 1st year player. So perhaps a bit of wishful thinking from me saying he is worth a go in the seniors. Having said that I still think he looks like more a natural forward than Williams. With Crameri out of sorts Redpath is still worth consideration.

And Griffen#16 is spot on - Lower is a great captain and was rugged & reliable the whole game. Also your observation wrt Young reminded me that he got better as game went along. Possibly offers more mobility that Talia and Roberts but there is something about Roberts I like but cannot quite put finger on it (je ne sais quois..... moi little pinky....). And JJ does look good on forward half wing.

I think so. He's still developing body wise, I think he looks a lot stronger than he did last season. At times he looks a bit slow and cumbersome but he contests pretty well and his decision making is generally not too bad.

I'm not 100% sure on what his best role will end up being, but I'd be keeping him on the list because of his versatility and that he still has more improvement in him.

Roberts looms as the replacement for Roughy if he doesn't come up. He marked well today and has far better disposal than Talia. Hunter was very good today and should come back into the senior line up. Honeychurch continues to impress and is fearless. Campbell again impressed in the ruck and given our inferior forward line must come under consideration. Lower and Russell have been terrific for Footscray and both provide experience and maturity to this relatively young team.
