    Tom Campbell

Tom Campbell is being talked up in others places as a potential trade target for teams wanting a ruckman. It appears his VFL form has not gone unnoticed.

Tom is currently contracted until 2016 (I believe), but if a club decided he was the right fit for them, offered him immediate first team football and were prepared to put a big contract in front of him, would we entertain the idea of trading him?

Obviously we all like that he is coming along and developing well, but realistically, its going to take a considerable drop in form from Minson for Tom to fully depose him any point in the next few years.

What would we accept for tom? if we were offered a pick around the end of the first round (18-25), would we entertain it?
    Would Tom?

We're at the base level of where a club needs to be with ruck stocks, maybe even below it. Tom has potential and is still developing. He's in front of Cordy. There's nobody else on the list who has the ability to become a ruckman currently. Rememberign Will didn't become our No.1 until his mid 20's.

It'd have to be much higher DP (mid 1st round at worst) to even consider it.

Agree, I think we are short a ruckman across both lists and selling one ruck to presumably bring in two junior rucks would seem not seem balanced. His going rate wouldn't be that high, as Mr Megan Gale has shown more than Tom and was around pick 30. Assuming that was as high as the bidding goes, Tom can knock the door down and become the number 1 ruck in time.

        No.

Minson has already had a significant form drop this year, he should have been dropped in favour of Campbell. It hasn't happened, but there's no way I'd be trading Campbell.

          Minson's approaching 30, so I'd doubt we'd trade Campbell.

Big Tom has been very impressive over the past few weeks and again yesterday he clunked some strong contested marks when we needed him to. His ruck work has been excellent and he is building up his clearance work as well.

He is now our number one ruck.

I like how you can rely on him for a couple of centre clearances too. He doesn't stop and let play go on, he gets in and can will the ball and get a quick forward entry. His fitness looks up to another high level too. Hopefully there's even more to come when the confidence of knowing he can do this week in and week out comes.

I actually gave him a vote for yesterday's game and gave him a 'banker' as well. The more he rucks total game time the better he will get.

Basically the new Ben Hudson, very impressed by how he fights for the ground ball after a stoppage.
Decent contested mark too, both forward and around the ground.

If you've got a ruckman who can ruck and take a mark around the ground you've got a gem.
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

Yep, has a bit of Huddo grunt about him.

Where he does differ from the bearded one is his ability to get dangerous when up forward. He's taken the #1 ruck spot and run with it.

Always up for a dangerous point.

I think he's really starting to improve.
His ground ball efforts have improved significantly, and if only he could convert more often .
He was quite a decent kick for goal early doors
