I went today, great weather and a good crowd. My point of view : Jones had a good first half, didn't see much of him in the second. Jong and Greenwood good, Wood and Honeychurch very good, I was impressed with Fort. Grant, to me, was lazy, didn't seem to want to chase, was happy enough if the ball was going to be kicked straight to him.

I didn't think he was that good today but was better in the 2nd half than the first.
He did take that big mark but Honeychurch's diving mark from the next kick was impressive.

Jones took some great marks in the 4th quarter and missed a sitter. To me Jones was very good but then again against this opposition he should dominate.

I was impressed, to me he is a similiar body to Ayce and played a similiar role and you wouldn't have picked that Ayce had that many years more experience.

He wasn't on the ground a lot but was effective. They started Redpath in the ruck in the 3rd and 4th quarters which limited Fort time on ground to some extent.
He needs to fill out a lot but he reads the play okay.

He was good today. Palmed the ball nicely and took some strong marks. Opposition makes it hard to read but I think he is a mile ahead in what he is doing on the ground from 12 months back. I'm happy to have him in the team as I don't think we could get a better back up option for Minson and Campbell.

Sounds like a good rookie prospect on that type of assessment. I've seen him a few times this year and have liked it to that extent.

Difficult to judge as opposition understandably struggling. I thought Redpath was pretty good today in ruck & around ground. He is a team player with good assists and quite good below his knees.

I find Jones exciting and infuriating - yes he took some exciting marks and kicked multiple goals but I recall he missed some sitters. Still, probably time to recall him and he also did do a fair bit around the ground too.

Jongy was tough as nails and good with his disposal today.

Thought Ayce was better without being a world beater.

Gia classy & Honeychurch really good.

Thought Talia was promising today too.

The other player that I thought was reasonable and team focused was Greenwood although he may not have a point of difference e.g. not a rocket so might struggle to be retained.

Of VFL listed players I liked 51 (consistent player for the games I've watched and keeps his feet), 56 & Darcy Fort.

I went today, nothing can be taken from the game because Bendigo are a total joke; players were taking on literally every tackle and showing blatant disregard for the skill of the other team, it was awesome.

56 is Will Hayes. I like what I've seen of him although not sure if he's worthy of rookie listing.

I headed to Whitten yesterday for the game.

Very one-sided obviously, which gave them the opportunity to get a fair bit of time into some of the VFL listed players (Hayes, Jensen, Fort all played significant roles, particularly in the second half). Lower, Goodes, Marko all not playing.

Wood was impressive and attacked with his run from defence and used the footy well. Although it was a pretty easy task for him, we controlled the set up of the ground, so Wood was often on his own behind the ball.

Lin Jong was very good in the middle.

Cordy was very good again. Marked well, and his foot skills were very good.

Grant did some brilliant things, and some incredibly lazy things.

Honeychurch very solid. Worked hard and used the ball well.

Roberts should play in the seniors.

Tom Young very good - albeit a pretty easy game to be a defender.

Gia - everything you would expect from a player like Gia againts a far inferior opposition. Did as he pleased.

Talia - not relly noticeable...wasn't in his area often - but when it was I don't recall him making a mistake.

Not much has been written about this guy recently, but he's put together a few good games in a row now. I hope he gets another shot before the end of the year.
