    Can't help myself sometimes though.

Which club Mike? Actually all I want to know is if it was The Bulldogs, doesn't matter if its another club and you don't want to go into it.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Surely it would be his club. Why would he get into trouble with the bulldogs?

Twodogs - it is the club you mentioned in your post. Azabob - I don't really have a 'club'.

Can you say what you think of McKenzie and Laverde?

Stringer is more the Brad Johnson type, a threat both on the ground and aerially but not a pack marker.

If we were taking a full forward on purely how many goals they kick Lindsay Thomas would be high on the list. I'm a Jake fan and he has enough quality to be good anywhere but he isn't the missing piece to our forward line.
Yeah, fair enough. What I would say with the Brad Johnson comparison is that while you probably wouldn't say that Johnno played as a key forward, he did play as our main target inside fifty. I'm a firm believer in making sure that the best players with ball in hand are played in positions and given roles that allow them to have maximum influence - and that's what we did with Johnno. Stringer is possibly our best player with ball in hand, or at least he will be. So, in my opinion, either we play him as the main man in our forward line or we develop him into a big midfielder who can push forward and cause big headaches (or vice-versa). I don't like the idea of Stringer playing third or fourth fiddle in the forward line.

The emergence of Stringer as a player in the last month and a half has considerably changed our forward line predicament. We do need a tall target, but do they need to be a gun? If Tom Campbell and Ayce Cordy can extend their VFL form to the AFL next year, or if Liam Jones can find some consistency, I think that's all we need. Just a serviceable target who can command a good key defender, and then let others do the damage. McCartin sounds like a good prospect, and I take the point on his marking being far stronger than a Stringer, but imo we shouldn't (and I'm not suggesting that we are) be giving up a limb or two to bump up our draft order standing to get him. I would prefer to get an absolute gun key defender with our first pick.

Scorlibo, are there any gun key defenders in this draft, especially remotely close to pick 5-7? Can't think of any off the top of my head that'd be considered key defenders apart from Hugh Goddard, or theoretically Jake Lever before his injury lay-off? Durdin may eventually be a key defender but he's a few years away from having the bulk to help out Roughead et al.

Durdin and Goddard would certainly be the two that have been talked about as top ten picks, but I will refer to the judgment of others on the talent this year. GVGjr has been very interested in Caleb Marchbank.

Durdin, Lever, Goddard & Marchbank, though I'd be surprised if we got one of those plus Zaine Cordy with our 2nd rounder
If you kicked five goals and Tom Boyd kicked five goals, Tom Boyd kicked more goals than you.

A good quality one. He has continued to grow and put on size, and is an extremely driven individual. Takes a good intercept mark and is one of the best one-on-one defenders in the draft class.

In my opinion, the fact he hasn't played this year hasn't really changed the view of him, because of his personality traits. He's the type of character that will get every last bit out of himself.

He's Macca's type of player alright, its just whether or not hes best available at our pick.
