Thank you Footscray

From all my family who attended the game today. We had some older members from our extended family (85 years old!) attend today and my Nan left tears. So thank you for bringing a winning culture back to the club. We will reap the rewards of this win moving forward as a football club.

But most importantly to us thank you especially for giving some older members of my family a chance to see a red, white and blue premiership.

Today was absolutely the start of something special - you could hear it in the crowd, which was the loudest I've ever heard us as a Club. This is the sort of win that brings a Club together, be it the players and coaches, administrators and supporters.

It was such a good feeling being at the game today, and when we got our run on in the last, and the chants went up and we knew we had it in the bag....what a feeling! I'm confident we will build on this heading into 2015 and it will translate into a huge pre-season and bigger, louder crowds at AFL level.

Thank you to all those who made it possible, a great day to be a Bulldog.

The atmosphere was simply amazing, as was the effort of the team. Well done to Maple and the coaching staff too.

Just got home - that was as good a game of football as I have seen for a long while. It was great to see the whole senior team out there celebrating the win - suck it in boys that's how it feels.

It's funny - Nan has always called us (our senior team) 'Footscray' and I really don't think she knew the difference between the two teams today. She's obviously not well and to get to the match was an effort but when we dropped her off at Altona she was just wrapped she could finally see her Bulldogs win the Grand Final - and that was enough.

Unfortunately there was no coverage in WA ... I had to follow the game via twitter. But I was in tears at the end, and am celebrating hard now. Fantastic for our club, and as others have said here already, my thanks to Peter Gordon, Macca and the hierarchy for their vision.
It was great to see (read) Jones kick five ... Stepping stone for next year.
