Just got home - that was as good a game of football as I have seen for a long while. It was great to see the whole senior team out there celebrating the win - suck it in boys that's how it feels.

It's funny - Nan has always called us (our senior team) 'Footscray' and I really don't think she knew the difference between the two teams today. She's obviously not well and to get to the match was an effort but when we dropped her off at Altona she was just wrapped she could finally see her Bulldogs win the Grand Final - and that was enough.

Beautiful!

After 9 or 10 beers many of us were in a similar zone!

What a great day out at the footy. I'm so proud that our team bought home a premiership. The crowd was great.

There is an ESPN documentary about Jimmy Connors' run to the semis of the 1990 or '91 US Open semis as a 38 year old (or thereabouts). The phenomenon of crowds attending and cheering him on.

The point about it was that people were paying their $40 or whatever, staying for 5 hours and coming out of it it the wee hours of the I ring, saying " I paid my $40 and I know I was just sitting in the crowd, but you know what? I really feel like I helped him get over the line!"

Point being, that's what sport's all about.

I truly walked out of the ground tonight feeling like WE got our guys over the line. Early in the last quarter, I BELIEVE that WE lifted our guys. The noise and energy coming from the stands was incredible...

... Anyway, whether it's true or not is inconsequential. The important part is that this is how I truly feel..... And that's the most important bit!

Just fantastic to go to the Savoy Tavern and see so many happy Dogs fans! Brilliant!

Had the good fortune of sitting close to some of the senior Bulldog blokes and I got a kick out of how pumped they were when the game was sealed late. Stringer and Wood (and old mate Mulligan) were out of their seats, high fiving and whooping it up with the punters around them.

I really like hearing that. You've got to hope these guys will build that same bond and camaraderie that was around among the group that got so close. They seemed to celebrate it with great joy out on the ground.

Thank you Footscray. My old man, my son and me walked out of the ground three very happy generations of Footscray supporters.

The best part of the day was seeing so many happy, smiling faces after the game and the noise everyone made during the game.

If reserves footy fast tracks players then maybe us supporters can be fast tracked too. If we can replicate that atmosphere during AFL matches it would make going to games a very special experience. We know we can do it now. We've always been such reserved fans-lets start making some noise.

If reserves footy fast tracks players then maybe us supporters can be fast tracked too. If we can replicate that atmosphere during AFL matches it would make going to games a very special experience. We know we can do it now. We've always been such reserved fans-lets start making some noise.
