    Guessing Draft Picks

We currently have 4 spots available on our list and possibly 5 if Higgins goes

Ist rounder likely someone like Wright, leaving say 3/4. Zaine Cordy a possible leaving 2/3. Redpath a possible upgrade, leaving one maybe two.

Will we also draft Foster and what about Jensen who has played well all year at VFL level - or are these two destined to be rookied?

    so:

    1st Wright
    2nd Cordy
    3rd (Foster)???
    4th Jong
    5th Redpath

Higgins ? or other trades? More delistings to make room.

I can't see us leaving ourselves only 1 live pick in the draft.

Clearly a lot will depend on trades and the F/S meeting.

If we can Rookie List Foster it will increase Redpath's chances for an upgrade.

Surely there will be more delistings as there is little space for any picks.

It will be interesting to see how it plays out. I wonder if we may end up delisting someone like Pearce prior to the draft and taking him back in the PSD or as a rookie if we don't like what is on offer.

I'd be pretty surprised if Foster lands on our senior list.

I expect we'll want at least 2 but more likely 3 live picks.
Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?

Yep. A few "experts" expect Foster to be a F/S Rookie

I'm anything but an expert, but that's the word. Having Footscray makes him even being taken as an option.

IF Big Will decided for a change and Jakey Carlisle wanted the same.

                * subject to actual final order draft selections

                Port gets Ryder from Ess.
Port shifts pick 14 to Ess
Ess get Will and pick 5 from WB
WB get Carlisle and pick 14

Port = Ryder, lose pick 14
Ess = Lose Ryder, get Will & pick 5
                WB = Carlisle & pick 14, lose Will & pick 5

Would solve the slipping of Wright, Durdin & McCartin to pick 5 or 6. We get a shot at Laverde/Marchbank/Goddard at pick 14+. Carlisle is a readymade KPF or KPD for the next 7-9 years, we get the chance for coverage off a half back and Cordy & Campbell can battle it out for No.1 ruck position. We could also take Sam Baudlerstone as a mature ruckman, depending on where our F/S selections end up.

All depends on Will & Carlisle

Love it MRM, but just can't see Essendon and the Dodo agreeing to it.
In fact there is more chance of Middle East peace.

Can we do that if no one bids? Is that how it works?

I'd like to rookie him at best our latest pick.

Pretty sure we can only take them as a rookie if we:
-Do not nominate them for the ND, thus meaning they go through it as a normal player
-Nobody picks them up in the ND or PSD
-After the PSD and prior to the rookie draft we can nominate them and then we get them as a rookie with no bidding process required
I should leave it alone but you're not right
