Yes that's the one. Sorry I meant either the director or writer was the same..not sure though.
Also although I haven't seen the movie, I've read the film screen play for the Krzysztof Kieslowski's Three Colours Trilogy Red, Blue and White... the screen play was fantastic so I'm guessing the movie's were pretty good also.
Yes the two directors of Amelie are the same team behind Delicatessen, who also did City of the Lost Children and were involved with J'etaime Paris also
Read the screenplay but not seen the movies?
The Kieslowski trilogy is widely considered a carer defining season from a master movie maker - I think you definitely have to see them, and they all have their own unique strengths and weaknesses and everyone has their own take on what they enjoyed about each
Other confronting moves in terms of topics but well worth seeing:
Paradise Now - a really powerful insight into the middle east
Turtles can Fly - one of the first Iraqi films post Saddam
After the Wedding - a recent by danish film maker Susanne Bier is also well worth a watch
For light throwaway the french comedy 'the closet' is pretty good viewing
