Another ex wrestler died yesterday. Joan Laurer alias Chyna. Only aged 45.
I just saw that, very sad. I loved the character she played, and broke new ground for all the female wrestlers we have today.

I did not know that. But thanks for the heads up...

Sure... Next thing you'll tell me is you haven't seen Rochelle Rochelle either.

All those steroids not surprising they are all dying, either from heart strain or losing their mind.
Also seems to happen in the 40s.
Watched a documentary called "when porn ends" they interviewed a lot of old stars and they all had pretty much the same story, single mums who fell into it by accident and found it easier to bring up Kids only working one day a week and money was good, drug parties were the big thing most were high.

Yeah same with musicians up and dyeing all of a sudden in middle age. Rob Forster and Roland Howard just in the last couple of years. The body isn't designed for that sort of abuse and eventually all that shit they take on board reaches critical mass.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Pain meds also play a big part. Wrestlers pre 90's weren't given guaranteed contracts but would get paid when they work. No work, no pay so a lot had to hit the pain meds hard just to get through work. I watched an interview the other day and have heard the same thing from many other wrestlers. Prescribed pain killers at first you take 2, then it's not enough so you take 3 maybe 4 etc etc. Long term pain med use cause a whole range of problems.

My son is a musician in a pretty full on metal band, he has the beard the full tattoos going, back, legs, everywhere, never touched a drug and drinks only to fit in , quietest kid you will ever meet and hugely respected as a union rep and health and safety rep, was put in the job at 18 in charge of 500 members at one stage.
Management are very wary of him out smarting them all the time.
The music industry has come a long way since the drug and alcohol filled 70s and 80s, now it's more the fans.

I was going to say the same thing. Now the crowd are all off their guts and the bands are all fitness freak vegans.
