What a pack of self indulgent wankers they are.
I've heard some stories of people from yarraville and Seddon referring to folk from Maidstone and West Footscray as being from the wrong end of town.
Bugger off, and every suburb has parking metres .
Back to north Fitzroy and Carlton

You've totally missed the point of all of this. It's small business owners protesting that paid parking will drive hipster tourists to somewhere else. The Yarraville locals couldn't care less given they don't need to drive.

Hah! No, missed that one! It's almost reassuring to think that, with what's happening in Paris, an issue over parking meters in the "poorer end" of Melbourne can qualify as such a passionate first world problem!

Yes when you compare it to stuff happening around the world this issue is so tiny.

So true. The great irony is that there are any number of people living in Yarraville suffering from actual problems but because they aren't leading a street parade their voices aren't heard and their concerns are never addressed.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

So a dollar parking metre will draw tourists away ? My point is that there are parking metres in every inner suburb, and it's absolute nonsense .There's the yarraville station for parking anyway. It's a complete embarrassment

That greens senator described folk in Yarraville and Seddon as more articulate than other parts of the inner West !

You've still missed the point. You're criticizing Yarraville locals for being hipsters who won't pay for parking, which has nothing to do with anything. Local business owners, who more than likely don't live in Yarraville, don't want parking meters putting tourists off coming to their business district. That's what the whole protest is about. The locals don't give a shit, I can't make that any clearer.

You seem to have a chip on your shoulder that you're being looked down upon.

What on blazes are you talking about ?
Tourists don't visit Yarraville or Seddon, they head most likely to willy.
So how have parking metres affected business in Stkilda or Carlton ?
It's absolutely minuscule . If you think starting a punch up is civilised then good luck to you .
The issue I have is a politician belittling the suburb I'm from.

You've still missed the point. I'll leave it there.

I'd suggest next time you're in Yarraville you watch the hipsters filling the bars and restaurants when they're leaving. They'll all be doing so in cars and scooters bar the few that live in near enough suburbs to ride a bike to. They aren't the locals.

The bloke who king hit Grant Miles must have let his fingers do the walking then. He was supposed to be from Yarraville.

Dinatale did a couple of preseasons at Richmond. It probably scarred him for life.

                              Yarraville is far more incestous.

I think it needs to be acknowledged there's plenty of people who live within a fair walking distance of the Yarraville village who would like to be able to pack the kids into the car or whatever and do a quick spot of shopping, without paying for parking within their own local village shopping area.

To suggest the only people complaining are shop keeps from out of the area wanting to attract the hipster crowd is probably a bit much. When you have kids and need things done quickly, or need to duck into the shops of an evening on the way home from work or whatever craft workshop you've attended during the day, it's not a stretch to think you'd like to be able to do so without having to feed the meter.
                                TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.
