    Scott Weiland has died.

Sad, if not unsurprising, news. Passed away "in his sleep" at 48.

A big voice in my teenage years. RIP.

Not a shock, unfortunately. Waste of talent.... Tell all your kids to steer clear of drugs..

Yep, bloody good lesson. Once they get a hold...
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Sad stuff. Huge STP's fan in my teenage years in the 90's.

Drugs ruined a great talent and spoiled a cool bands destiny

          Sad to hear. RIP Scott.

Kurt Cobain, Layne Stanley and Scott Weiland all gone far to soon.

At least he got past 27.

Yes true that. Quite a few famous musicians have died at age 27 which is way to young.

Only found this out when Chris Cornell mentioned it tonight at the concert. Not surprising but still sad.

Just listened to them the other day. Loved the STP's. Sad news but, like others have said, not surprised.

                    Re: Scott Weiland has died.

STP's first 3 albums have stood up exceptionally well over the years. They were pilloried at the time as being derivative of the Seattle sound, but the reality is that they had fantastic Beatles-esque pop sensibility that melded together beautifully with their signature distorted sound. And Scott Weiland was one of the best frontmen going around - theatrical, charismatic, great vocalist. I went to the US as a 21 yo for a holiday in 1993 and fell in love with them as soon as I heard 'Plush' on high rotation everywhere we went.

It is sad when any musician dies before their time (even when utterly predictable such as in this case), but when my age contemporaries start doing so it becomes even more poignant.

'Interstate Love Song' is a flawless, perfect pop gem - we are incredibly lucky for it's presence. Thank you Scott and STP.

Bummed my weekend out - Sour Girl...and most of album No. 4, was a great return to form for them.

They sounded great at Festival Hall in 2011, was amazed we actually got to see them finally play live in this country. 4 years later...

Thanks Scraggers a really poignant and rarely thought about point of view. Its easy to mythologise these rock casualties and yet we don't see the sorrow and disappointment their car crash lifestyles have on those who love and need them the most.
