Re: Best Sci-Fi movie of all time?
I love sci-fi ... favourite genre.
The Star Wars and Star Trek franchises rate highly; I love Starship Troopers (trashy Sci-fi ... another favourite genre). Close Encounters, Blade Runner, 2001 a Space Odyssey, Alien, Matrix, the list goes on.Comment

Yeah Starship Troopers is great. I even liked no. 2! Serenity is also right up there for me. Great movie as is the 5th Element.
Anyone seen Dark City? Great concept, very dark film and well acted. Sunshine, Solaris and Event Horizon are also personal favs. But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.Comment

Great Movie, although always thought it would have been better if it was just two movies and not a trilogy.
Mine as well Doc26.
Not sure about greatest but definitely one of my favourites and would also make my top 10.It's better to die on our feet than live on our knees.Comment

Solaris is the grandfather of many of these films. You don't develop courage by being happy in your relationships every day. You develop it by surviving difficult times and challenging adversity. ― EpicurusComment

I always loved 'The Black Hole' when I was a kid. It fascinated me, but was a flop, being too dark.
The Dark Crystal is another such film. Was pretty dark for kids. You don't develop courage by being happy in your relationships every day. You develop it by surviving difficult times and challenging adversity. ― EpicurusComment

Maximilian is the meanest robot of all time.
I have a copy of it on DVD. Apparently it was supposed to be Disney's answer to Star Wars, and what they ended up with was something so incredibly camp, twisted and philosophical nobody really knew how to deal with it.TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.Comment

Was not overly impressed with the Martian. It was ok but the Soundtrack did not fit the cinematography and Matt Damon well...Maaaatt Daaaamon. Got hold of the Looper the other night - highly recommended. But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.Comment
