Courtney Barnett has to be apart of the conversation.
International success, cofounder of a successful record label.
She has certainly continued to pave the way for future female lead vocalists and songwriters

I've learnt one thing from this thread. That Twodogs taste in music and mine are miles apart.

I have a very broad taste in music and punk was never one of them and as I get older I'm turning into my parents.

The older we get the less "LIFE IN PRISON" is a deterrent...

I think Twodogs likes a variety of Genres as I do, but I was never sold on punk like you.

And that was just the Aussies. No Patti Smith, Blondie, GoGos, Slits or X Ray Specs!

Loving different bands to everyone else was pretty much the point.

Indeed. I have Catholic taste in music. You mention the genre and I'll mention half a dozen musicians you thought only you have heard of.

Punk is my go to though. Birthday Party, the Saints, the Ramones, Dead Kennedys, Buzzcocks. I am an undeconstructed 1970s punk!
