I deleted my Twitter about 2 months ago, and havent missed it for one second. Used to love it, but it's turned into a right wing cess pool of lies and hatred. Ive got better things to do in my life to suss out whats fact and whats fiction.

I deleted mine the day Trump got elected as I felt that result gave a free pass to the worst people on there to keep getting worse.
It's been nice, I'm definitely using my phone a lot less and getting less angry at the world.

I just mute accounts I don't want to read anything about it. Outside of sport, Bulldogs and news in Ukraine I don't read much else in there.

I went back into twitter around finals time and now do this. Mute accounts, unfollow non sport accounts and never never click on the For You tab.

From the sound of things Bluesky is doing a decent job as an alternative that doesn't just feed you ragebait. There's some ability to actually curate what topics the algo feeds you.

I don't use either though. Arguing with people on reddit about whether a genocide is real or not is soul crushing enough
