    Looney Tunes Vs Hanna Barbera

Growing up in the sixties / seventies, I think it is fair to say that most of my education can be attributed to cartoons.

Now that I have kids of my own that seem to adore cartoons as much as I did, I would like them to appreciate quality instead of this modern dribble that is served up to kids today.

Therefore, I increasing find myself on You Tube searching great cartoons of a bygone era.

This has led to a debate in my family ... which was better, Looney Tunes or Hanna Barbera.

Looney Tunes had Bugs Bunny, Elmer Fudd, Yosemite Sam, Marvin the Martian et al. as well as some great cartoons such as "What No Gravy?" or "High Diving Hare" ... absolute classics. Whereas Hanna Babera brought classics such as The Flintstones or my favourites Homg Kong Phoey, Jabber Jaw or Wacky Races ...

What do you think? ? ?

Looney Toons had Daffy Duck & Foghorn Leghorn. Contest over as far as I'm concerned.

Voted Looney Tunes, but overall like more modern cartoons that push teh social boundaries a bit (early Simpsons, South Park, Family Guy)

In the Early 90s for me it was all about Looney Tunes & Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Turtle Power!)

Mid-Late 90s and Early '20s' was all about The Simpsons

About 2003 Onwards its now all about Family Guy & South Park...they are the 2 animated shows ill continue watching.

Cool Mc Cool was neither Hanna Barbera or Looney Tunes ... from memory he was made by the same bloke who made Batman into an animation ... I think his name was Bob Kane

Bob Kane did make Cool McCool but didn't just illustrate Batman, he created Batman.

Hard to choose, I remember going to a mate of Dads once a week to watch the Flinstones in colour and Hong Kong Phooey.
Loony Tunes are brilliant (exept Road Runner ) and Donald on Sunday Night Disney was always a laugh.
Today has classics like the Turtles,Simpsons, Family Guy and American Dad.
But my vote is with Daffy and Loony Tunes.

Also if you want to see your favourites in a different light, Robot Chicken is a cracker.

                            When in doubt, Wiki.

Cool McCool was an animated series that ran on NBC from September 10, 1966 to August 30, 1969 with two episodes per show, running to 40 episodes in all. It was created by Bob Kane -- most famous as the creator of Batman -- and produced by Al Brodax for King Features.

Ren and Stimpy were a favourite of mine in the early 90s.
