Loony Tunes are brilliant (exept Road Runner ) and Donald on Sunday Night Disney was always a laugh.
Today has classics like the Turtles,Simpsons, Family Guy and American Dad.
But my vote is with Daffy and Loony Tunes.

Also if you want to see your favourites in a different light, Robot Chicken is a cracker
    .
    Harvey Birdman aswell.

Me too. Didn't get their due recognition.

Beavis and Butthead were another largish series whcihc i haven't seen too much mentioned.

I remember those Beatles Cartoons. "Did he say Cupid or Stupid?"

Warner Brothers Looney Tunes were the best. Foghorn Leghorn, The Three Little Bops and Baby Bear(But Henry, it's fathers day) were very funny.

Do we have any Prince Planet fans here?
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

So a friend of mine found a box set of the entire first season rummaging around in her garage (true story!) so I settled down to have a watch. Art has held up surprisingly well -- very composition heavy (as there wasn't actually all that much movement) so actually pretty good looking series. In fact, its cinematic style was known as 'filmation', so the stylised breakdowns were very intentional.

When you know its development story (Mattel filmed the series with the toy line already in production after a relatively successful series of mini-comics), you realised that every line in the show not dedicated to the story (ie. every superfluous line of dialogue) is dedicated to spruiking the toys. Watch it, you'll see what I mean: whenever a character speaks to another, they end the sentence saying the NAME of the character very clearly (eg. "good throw, He-Man!", "Well done, Man-At-Arms!", "Get him, Mer-Man!", "Don't let him get away, Evil-Lynn!" etc etc) so that kids know the exact names of each character, making it easier for them to identify the toys. It's a fascinating study of marketing to children.

I do like how each episode ends with a pretty well-delivered 'moral' though; a nice touch which raises the series above your average fantasy bash-and-crash.

                          ---

Ps. I have to say though, after about 5 or 6 episodes I had more than enough. It's incredibly repetitive (even using the exact same scenes with different dialogue pasted on over different episodes) with the only interest being the new character they introduce every episode. Guess it's a lot more exciting watching only one episode a week.
