    Atlas Sound - Walkabout
The Decemberists - The Rake's Song
The Drums - Let's Go Surfing
Jonathan Boulet - A Community Service Announcement
    Phoenix - Lasso
    The Prodigy - Colours
    Telekinesis - Coast Of Carolina
The Thermals - Now We Can See
The Very Best - Warm Heart Of Africa
Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Dull Life

It would be interesting to see other 'Woofers' list of 10 songs(and it doesn't have to be from Triple J's play list).
Only really one great song comes to mind for me, and I know I'll sound like a teenage girl saying this, but Little Lion Man by Mumford and Sons is a cracking tune. First song I've heard in ages that I couldn't wait to hear again. Sorry about the effusive gushing.

I also really enjoyed Crying Lightning by Arctic Monkeys. It's dark and sinister and I like it.

Others that stuck in my head are The Dogs Days Are Over by Florence And The Machine and Sticks And Stones by Jamie T.

Special mention goes to Broken Leg by Bluejuice. It's a catchy singalong track, though the lyrics are half-arsed, but it's the best video clip going around. Look it up, good stuff.

Sorry I couldn't come up with ten, but it's been a bit of a vanilla year musically for me.

        FWIW, my votes are below

        Alexisonfire - Young Cardinals
Art Vs Science - Parlez Vous Francais?
Bob Evans - Hand Me Downs
        Doves - Kingdom Of Rust
        Kasabian - Underdog
        Mastodon - Oblivion
Paul Dempsey - Out The Airlock
        Royksopp - Happy Up Here
Them Crooked Vultures - New Fang
        Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Zero

Unlucky to miss out - Mumford & Sons, Howling Bells, Karnivool & I guess Bluejuice (that'll probably be number 1 this year)

And one the of the greater alt radio mysteries to me is why Trail of Dead don't get played, it just baffles me.

I'll occasionally flick over to JJJ, but beyond RRR & PBS (and working out how to get my CD player working again) there is little need in metro Melbourne (damn lucky we are).

JJJ sounds fairly close to a commercial station these days and just seems to focus on the more electronically or poppy based genres which I guess is what the kidz(tm) are into these days.

            Good point.

Triple j certainly have a different sound to when I first started listening to them from the music they play to the presenters that host their programs.

I'm not neccessarily disagreeing with you but how can you comment that it's a piss poor list when by your own admission you haven't heard most of the stuff?

That is probably the weakest top 10 list they've ever released. Art vs Science pissing out some throwaway ditty a couple of days before a festival and it is rated 96 spots higher than a group containing Grohl, Homme & JP "F" J?

As for your list Ernie, its a great list but when was the last time either of the bands you listed played on JJJ?

Wonder if Jarvis Cocker made the J play list this year?

How didn't Wagons get a run on JJJ? Last year ECSR was left out too.

I am slightly. In past years there was normally a few good songs that made it into the top ten despite the programming director appearing to prime themself for a job at Nova of Fox.

Perhaps kids are just more easily led these days; they'll swallow anything. As my sister said, kids are fatter these days.
