What skin problems exactly? Our aussie doesn't have any skin issues I'm aware of.

Nothing too major. It behaves almost like alergies to certain things. Causes what is like chafe marks every once and a while. As he is getting out of the puppy stages they seem to be less frequent. Maybe it is a weird Dog puberty thing??
But fish oil tablets are gold. Good for the coat, heart, joints, skin. Almost everything the traditional English Bulldog struggles with. Plus once the dog bites through them it's like doggie heroin to them so you can use them as a treat, Two-three a day?

I took ownership of a British Bulldog pup last night.... I'll upload some pics over the weekend.

        Her name is Lexi.

I wanted to call her Fiji.

Congrats Mantis, looking forward to seeing some photos.

I tossed and turned about whether to get a British or an Aussie, in the end going for an Aussie. But being a newish breed they can be a little bit unpredictable, and in his case rather than being the mid-sized 30-35kg standard, he's just clocked up 50kg's. I think when he's trying to snuggle up to us on a 3 seater couch the fiance wishes we went with the British Bulldog!

Wow, I've didn't know Aussies could get that big - he's twice the size of our girl and she's still a fair lump. Ejay is a little ball of muscle, yours must be an absolute powerhouse!

We didn't think they could either. I've spoken the the ABS and they think he's the biggest one they've ever recorded. He's powerfully built, but he's also very tall and wide across his torso. Basically take your typical Aussie Bulldog and upscale it by about 30%. I'll post some pics of him up here again soon.

You sure they haven't spliced in some mastiff in him? 50kg is big for a Aussie?
Mine isn't small and he is 32kg.

Off topic but a mate of mine has an Akita who is currently tipping the scales at 62kg down 3kg from 6 months back. He's a beautiful dog but like a lot of big dogs if he wasn't socialized correctly he would be a problem.

This isn't a picture of him but it's close

Anyone knocking on the door gets a sustained loud wolf like howling from him until he works out who they are. As soon as he see's me he goes for a rope and wants to head out back for a game of catch

                    I hoped someone would ask.

The money we had saved for a holiday to Fiji was used on the purchase of Lexi.. hence the name.

                    Bula!!

The breed tends to have some Mastiff bred into them. A couple of the breeders that bred his grandparents think he must have picked up an extra whack along the way somewhere.

My cat 'Cooney' was bitten by a snake yesterday. His heart stopped while at the vets and had to be put on a respirator. He received the anti venom last night and hopefully will be coming home in the next couple of days. Can't believe he just cost me $1000.
                              The curse is dead.

I was a vet nurse for 16 years & yes, snake bites are a very costly experience. I hope Cooney gets through it and recovers quickly, for his sake & also your bank accounts.
