Glad to hear Cooney is back to his normal self! Funny how your daughters are so different in their views. Personally, I don't understand the 'it's only an animal' way of thinking. If you choose to bring a pet into your home, then you have a responsibility to look after it. We adopted 2 adult cats (Billy named after Billy Slater & BJ named after Brad Johnson) 3 years ago at a cost of $55 each. Billy had a potentially malignant skin tumour removed last year which cost nearly $1,000 for surgery & diagnosis. Now he has a heart murmur which also needs a chest x-ray & ultrasound.

I thought I would share a picture of my Aussie Bulldog Pup Ejay:



She was born on 12 March 2010, the day before our NAB Cup Final triumph, so she knows only of success!

I managed to get the name approved by my ex-South Australian, Crows supporting fiancee, which was quite the acheivement.

Sadly our poor old girl Ejay suddenly left us yesterday after overdoing it playing in the backyard with the kids. She always had that bit of puppy left in her.

So sorry to hear Axeman. They're such a huge part of our lives, and its tough when they go. It's part of the bargain you know going into bringing a pet into your life, but it never makes it easier when they pass.
All the best mate, and I'm sure you'll forever hold onto the memories of your dear Ejay.

Oh man that's very tough to hear Axe.

If it's any consolation, imagine it from Ejay's perspective. A great life full of love, food and play. Being able to fart whenever you want without apology. Still be able to play when you're getting old and having a ball then suddenly it's over.

Rough on your family, but a life only every dog could hope for.
