    Re: Pet Peeves

Got another one... not sure if it's been posted, can't be bothered reading all the posts. Out for dinner tonight, a send-off for a work colleague moving interstate. Young lady next to me, who is absolutely lovely, on the iPhone about 8 times during dinner. As much as I like her, I just think it's rude Another work friend does it constantly, really bugs me.

Seeing Scott west in Melbourne gear. Surreal
While the club didn't handle the Scott West retirement well, it was partially due to his reaction and it was absolutely the correct call in hindsight. As for him being in Melbourne gear, well it's not like we owed him a job. I would have loved to see him stay around the club in some capacity.
I'm not sure what issue you have with the club's handling of Grant, apart from us not making him King of Everything which i'm sure he could do because he's awesome.
I'm not saying the club hasn't been at fault at times or handled things perfectly but it's alays a tricky issue. You can't keep every legend employed post football.

My pet peeve is reading posts where someone writes 'could of' or 'should of', instead of could've or should've.... OF WHAT??

Similarly, and this seems to be only something I've really heard in Queensland, people who in response to a question like 'What do you think of such and such' will respond 'it's good but'.... BUT WHAT??? and just to really add a further Queensland touch, often they will say 'it's good but, hey'.

For starters, go to the wb homepage and have a look at Grant's bio. Tell me if this befits a champion. Has not been updated for years, lacks key information. Shoddy at best for the absolute rolls royce of the club. Few other things, but need to check a few facts.

As for scotty . No chance to say bye to the crowd get chaired off. it's once in a lifetime. bit cold.

The new marketing push is to try and retain these unique players in some kind of role. It's a real loss for the club in my view. In hindsight, I understand why things were done. But as the club grows, hope we can do a little more for the old guard, now that more is possible.

Fair enough but the whole club website is "shoddy at best".
As for West's departure it's been debated long and hard already in other pages and I don't think anyone was particularly happy but the simple fact is West didn't want to finish and the club thought he was done.

Anyway as for Pet Peeves. People with cameras/phones at gigs. Drives me f**kin crazy.

Seconded, watch the bl**dy gig with your eyes you morons, rather than through your damn iphone (and ruining my view in the process)!

Incorrect use of words: Where & wear, to & too, there, their & they're, lose & loose.

Our local Contours gym has HUGE stickers on both of their windows at the moment: "Loose those unwanted Christmas kilos". How did no one notice the mistake?

Take particular note of the first line. "Life's to short"!?!?

And so we add another...tattoos which are either wrong (grammatically, or with misinterpreted foreign characters), or have no meaning.

Funny!! I saw that in yesterdays paper - apparently he's having it fixed. Again, how many people would've read it beforehand & not noticed?

The St Kilda schoolgirl has a tattoo that reads "the best revenge is sucess" of course she claims it was deliberate because everyone has flaws

I saw a girl on the train the other day, she was talking on her phone on a crowded carriage at a volume so loud that everyone on the train could hear how amazing her social life is (another pet peeve), and on her shoulder she had a tattoo "I'ts all about me, deal with it". You couldn't write comedy that ironic.

Is it the tattooists who can't spell/punctuate or do people go in asking for this stuff??

When people say/write 'I don't often agree with you, but ....this time....'. Written like its a compliment but sounds more like you are an idiot most of the time, this is the first time you ain't.
