    Hottest 100 of 2011

Well voting for this has opened up again, and I'm still sorting through who I think deserves my votes.

Expecting a strong showing from Boy and Bear, looking for Husky and hopefully Jinja Safari to debut and surely "Somebody that I used to know" is the outright favourite.

Anybody keen to post who they voted for, who they are going for and how they think it's gonna pan out?
I should leave it alone but you're not right

The new Bush song may make a late charge. Don't listen to a great deal of radio but caught that song (name escapes me but i think its just come out).

        Mine is......

        Red Coats - Dream shaker
Pigeon John - Before we are gone
City And Colour - Fragile Bird
Does It Offend You, Yeah? - Pull my insides out
Foster The People - Helena beats
Future Of The Left - Dry hate
        Jim Ward - Broken songs
        Lanie Lane - Ain't Hungry
        New Navy - Zimbabwe
The Strokes - Under the cover of darkness

I don't expect many to get in.

Number 1 will definitely be Gotye's Somebody I used to know.

Do they even play it on the J's?

Might have to vote just so Gotye doesn't win!

Why? May be over played on every radio station but it is a brillant song.

                I agree.

And besides, is there a viable alternative that could still beat the countless votes Gotye will actually get? I don't think so. Besides, it's generally a guide to some good music, and the order is just for a bit of fun. Just hoping the songs I vote for make an appearance.

It's a clever song but boy am I sick of it.

Excellent question. Bit elitist if a song is a big commercial hit, yet they don't include it in the hottest 100. Like many other "compilation hits" albums i guess they've got to get the rights to include the songs. Most of the indie bands they play would throw their music at them just to get exposure.

They would include it, it's just not many people are going to vote for a song that they don't hear on the station.

I have no idea if this has been played on Triple J, but 'Codex' by Radiohead is the easily best song I've heard this year.
"Look at me mate. Look at me. I'm flyin'"

It's in the poll and along with Lotus Flower is very likely to secure a vote from me. I love the sound Thom makes at the very start of the song, and it's probably my favourite song to play on piano.

                              My votes:

Arctic Monkeys - Don't Sit Down Cause I've Moved Your Chair
Ball Park Music - All I Want Is You
Boy & Bear - Feeding Line
                              Boy & Bear - Milk & Sticks
Foster The People - Helena Beat
                              Jezabels, The - Trycolour
                              Jinja Safari - Hiccups
                              Jinja Safari - Mermaids
                              Radiohead - Lotus Flower
                              Wombats, The - 1996

Could have given a lot more votes to Jezabels, Wombats and Boy & Bear but I ran out.
I should leave it alone but you're not right
