Mick Harvey from The Birthday Party went pretty well as a guitarist and drummer as well.

Elliott Smith was a brilliant guitarist and a highly proficient drummer, in addition to being a fantastic pianist.

I'm a devotee, so I'm going to say Eric Clapton. Not in terms of technique, but he's lasted decades, and keeps coming up with the goods.

There's a British guy called Newton Faulkner, who had a hit with "Dream Catch Me". He's incredible. If you don't know him, here's a sampler:

He's great. Always impressed me the way he takes old blues and puts a twist on them. And in EC's defence, the nickname has nothing to do with the speed of his playing!

Matt pike from high on fire/sleep is probs my favourite guitarist, in terms of drummers, john stanier ex Helmet and the mark of cain, is the best drummer imo, he currently plays in instrumental band battles.

Agree on Hendrix, Gary Moore and Ingwie Malmsteen have always been two of my favourite guitarists.

That's alright. You weren't rude BAD I'm not going to do this even though it's off season for us. Still a lot too talk about in terms of our pre season and trades. I now know being on WOOF for a while that it is a Bulldogs and footy sports forum. Other issues can be brought elsewhere.
