Re: Best Guitarists and Drummers
Big Pumpkins fan so a little biased but I love Jimmy Chamberlin on teh drums. So glad I got to see them play Superchrist at Festival Hall a few years ago one of my favs with Jimmy in the band.
Edit: Actually that concert forced me to miss the Bulldogs beating St. Kilda. Probably the last time we did it. I remember getting out of the concert and checking the score then putting the Bulldogs theme song up full blast in the car for all the wanker fans trying to scurry away early.Comment

Re: Best Guitarists and Drummers
Idolising Jimi Hendrix I am probably biased, but I loved the work of Mitch Mitchell, and Buddy Miles. Both completely different styles, Mitchell more jazz based and technically proficient, and Miles just heavy handed soul machine. Both of their styles complimented the musical direction Jimi was in at the stages they were with him.Last edited by Yankee Hotel Foxtrot; 07-09-2012, 10:44 PM.Comment

Thread needs more Virgil Donati!
Excellent technique.
As for the guitar I've always liked the way Mark Knopfler plays. This one's a good example:

Well said EW. I think we all need the diversion of non-footy talk after the year we've had."Look at me mate. Look at me. I'm flyin'"Comment

Re: Best Guitarists and Drummers
Taylor Hawkins. Seeing him/Foo's at Etihad early this year, he must of lost 10kg that night (and he does every other night). I'm not sure there's many of this generation that compare, he's a bloody freak!! BTB The closest drummer would be the guy that played on No One Knows by QOTSA had an awesome drum beat (I defy anyone to not smash your steering wheel like a drum kit when it's on), same with In Bloom by NirvanaRocket Science: the epitaph for the Beveridge era - whenever it ends - reading 'Here lies a team that could beat anyone on its day, but seldom did when it mattered most'. 15/7/2023Comment

That chick from Lenny Kravitz's song, " are you gonna go my way" was cool.
