It's a pity the way the Shield dropped off. Although personally I thought it was after season 5 though. That last line of season 5- "We're gonna find out who did this...and we're gonna kill 'em." promised so much for the next season, but 6 & 7 didnt really deliver.
True, you are correct Season five was very good.

Acting in both shoes was really good. They always managed to find brilliant "extras" who owned their parts.

My fav character from the shield is still Antwon Mitchell!

Antwon was great-it was weird watching him as a detective on the last couple of seasons of Law & Order-but I thought the best character was Margos Dezerian, the psycho who cut his victim's feet off.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

I forgot about him. Somehow the shield really nailed which actors should play what roles.

I'm sure you guys are probably across it but if not, the guy who played Margos is the creator of Sons of Anarchy.

Haven't got into Philly but went through 7 seasons of Peep Show in a month, brilliance. Workaholics is hilarious.

(Stupidly) Watched the US debut of Inbetweeners, not sure why I did...it was horrendous.

I thought it was a solid series throughout.

About the best show in the whole series was in season 4 when Captain Rawlings ripped into Acevda for brokering a deal to let Antwon Mitchell go.
It was a shame that Glen Close had to leave after one season because I think a lot of the story lines suffered.
The Jon Kavanaugh character really stepped up in season 5.

The Decoy squad added a bit and that streak through the Barn was as funny as.

I've just introduced my son to The Shield. We are getting toward the end of series two, money train rip off imminent! I'd forgotten what a good character Armadillo was.

After we've finished with the Shield we'll move onto The Wire and then we'll watch West Wing.

I've just started season 4 of Friday Night Lights. Saw the first series on ABC2 then when I found out they weren't going to show any more I bought the full series from the US. Has its ups and downs but the total reboot at the start of season 4 reinvigorated the whole series and sucked me right in. The whole concept could have been overblown and terrible but it hits the right note so often has so many really strong well written characters.

I gave up after the first 2 episodes, too much preying etc for my liking. From what Im told there isn't too much religion in it anymore.

I finally caught the re-run of the season 2 premiere of Rake last night on ABC2. I'm a real fan of the show, the humour is so wicked and Richard Roxburgh is fantastic as Cleaver Greene.
