    Re: Best holiday destinations

I just got back from a couple of weeks in the Maldives. It's probably the most beautiful place I have been to, although not the sort of place you would go if you are looking for excitement or a party. It has a really high proportion of honeymooners. The huts out in the middle of the ocean are pretty cool, plus the service from the staff is outstanding. Of course you pay through the nose for it!

Sounds like a good place to relax. Europe is most likely the next place I would like to go to as I haven't been there before. I might one day go to the village in Macedonia (Northern Greece) to see where my grandparents grew up. I been to the States twice. Japan I just been to the airport in Tokyo but that is another great city to visit.

The Middle East would also be an interesting place to visit especially Egypt for the pyramids but with all the trouble over there people are staying away.

No need to PM, here you go. Most places are relatively similar around there.

My favourite city in Europe probably goes to Budapest. I travelled there a few times when I was a kid, in 1990 and 1992, and I went back there in 2007.

It was amazing to see how the place changed between 1990 and 1992 after the Wall was dismantled, and how it's become such a cosmopolitan place now.

The old city split from the new city is an amazing thing to see.
Love Budapest as well. One of the best cities I have been to in Europe.

It is amazing how many aussies are o/s at the moment. I was at a bar in Prague in October and turned around at the bar after hearing a few aussie accents to realise that the place had 30-40 aussies in it. This was on a Wednesday night.

Great trip and thank you for asking.

Brussels is a great place, love the old city, art galleries, museums and 16th and 17th century architure. Took a day trip to Bruge and Antwerp. Bruge is also beautiful and full of historical places.

Also spent 12 day in Cyprus visiting family and 4 nights in Istanbul, which was also great. Been to Istanbul many times but still found things I haven't seen before.

Berlin is the best place in the world. Such a fantastic feel to the place, really different vibe to anywhere else I've ever been. All the people seem to do is party and sleep; I couldn't even pick up where anyone lived.

                          Seconded. Strange, but funny.

Plus Tyrion Lannister, so double win.

                            Brilliant film

For me the win is Brendan Gleeson

Haven't been here either but has anyone been to the Scandinavian countries. In Northern Scandinavia it must be fascinating having 6 months darkness and 6 months daylight. The Northern lights is another feature I hear from over there.
