My favourite animated movies would be Despicable Me, the Toy Story trilogy, Monsters Inc, Cars and Finding Nemo.
Still enjoy watching The Goonies and ET occasionally too.Footscray member since 1980.Comment

Re: Your Favourite Kids Movie/Animated Movie
I hate the explosion of kids animated flicks that has taken place in the post Toy Story era - all of them are vehicles to raise the profile of the voice actors, and most of them are torturous to sit through (and as a father of 3 I've seen my fair share of garbage animated films). By far the most enjoyable film in the genre that I've seen is Rango, and I suspect only because it was so heavily influenced by Hunter S Thompson and Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas.
Disney are like the Anti Christ as far as I'm concerned - they buy their cache and credibility (whether it is Pixar, Marvel or Star Wars) that is otherwise non-existent in their pathetic little world. They are as cynical and contrived as any other major global corporation.
I watched Goonies again a while ago, it was pretty good for a laugh. The first moments when they're at Mikey's place and Chunk whips out the Truffle Shuffle and Mouth talks to Rosalita translating for Mikey's mother are excellent. The villains are quite good as well.
The inclusion of these films into this thread got me thinking of Mrs Doubtfire, a movie that is supposed to be family entertainment. That movie has very deep themes and should only be shown to people who are old enough to understand. How they spun the maniacal webb of lies and deceipt, coupled with adult situations positively I'll never know.TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.Comment
