I'm almost through and I can't not comment on this.

The ABC is so *!*!*!*!ing hell bent on being "balanced" that the best they could do is get a pedo activist and racism apologist as the main counter argument protagonist to the centrist or centre left nature of the rest of the commentary throughout the documentary.

To get funding for this type of documentary the ABC would have definitely made promises to ensure it was toned down for general consumption, but why oh why (without it being to develop a sense of irony) would Andrew Bolt be the person you lean to in order to present the conservative side?

He is so far invested to the commercial right, surely there's more moderate voices who could have participated. Wasted opportunity to have a real rather than inflamed conversation.

As an aside, if you're shocked or taken aback by the documentary itself, you must have truly been sleepwalking in the years Goodes was being treated like a piece of shit.

Still stuck in 2015. I hope the next season is good for us.

I’m with Jeemak. Time to call out the real victims. Spectators from 2015 with imaginary injuries from invisible spears. It’s virtually impossible to quantify this harm. So it’s actually unlimited harm.

I’m a bit raw on this. While a copper at the footy 15 years ago I was first on the scene to an imaginary mass murder where Hawthorn player Mark Williams kept unloading invisible shotguns into the crowd. It was a massive non bloodbath of non gun violence. I still can’t forgive him.

Racism is real from footy to institutions, and the best answer we have is keep attacking the problem. Just reading posts of MJP and others about what young indigenous kids face in footy is often remarkable that it’s still going on. I think the best thing for our club is to bring in indigenous players to list from around the land and be better educated and engaged in being real agents of change. I’m not sure in 5 years this topic has drastically changed.

It cheapens the real stuff doesn't it.

What I really want to know is why nobody followed the 13 year old girl out of the stadium...…….well I don't actually.

My wrap up of the documentary in one sentence...……..to me it seemed like a Stan Grant and Tracey Holmes promotional special. The intent was definitely there, but their obvious inclusion within put me off a bit.

Perhaps I'll be called racist because of that......unlikely. More likely is that I'll be called cynical. And that's cool.

Most of the major issues were touched on, however, it wasn't a documentary aimed at me. Rather, it was aimed at the middle ground who are voiceless and don't really know what to think. Kudos for them for getting it up and running, it takes a lot of effort to broadcast this type of material.

I know I sound snobby for saying that, but seriously, we should be so far beyond the contents of this documentary even being an issue.

ABC participated but did they have a say in the making of the doco?

I absolutely hate Bolt, he is such a hypocrite. On the one hand he comments on Goodes picking on a 13 year old, but on the other he can't stop criticising Greta Thunberg a 16 year old.

My wrap up of the documentary in one sentence...……..to me it seemed like a Stan Grant and Tracey Holmes promotional special.

I thought Stan was terrific, so articulate and intelligent and a great promoter for identifying and educating us on indigenous issues.

You know, if he/she did a dance and threw an invisible spear back at Goodes I'm pretty sure it would have been OK. If he/she said something racist, homophobic, or whatever the public broadly finds unsatisfactory then they'd have probably gotten a whack

Good reply. I think you are right and when it comes right down to it I have no idea what it's truly like to a blackfella in Australia. If it helps I know what it's like to be looked down at and be told I'm scum because of the suburb I came from. To be told that I didn't really go to a proper school and there was something wrong with my parents. It's not fun and I can only imagine the indigenous experience to be worse by a huge degree

I mean seriously, a footballer does a dance and chucks an invisible spear in your direction do you loose your mind and start saying racist and homophobic thngs at them, or do you just take it on board and tell them to get on with the game, get stuffed, or bugger off?

Do you get over it quickly, or do you let it ruin your day? Too many people chose the latter.

Do a little dance back for sure. I'd have loved it but I am an attention seeking show off who thrives on the attention
