When did you realise you were 'old'?

Obviously the 'natural tint' or hair thinning gives it away, but when talking about AFL players, who was the player that made you realise you were old? Obviously you finish your schooling at about the age of draftees, so the mind equates your age with youth.

For me, it's occurred with hearing Gia called 'the fossil' and thinking geez he's old.

The brain just processed that thought against my actual age and thus let me know therefore I'm old. Damn it. Grey hairs sprouting, thinning hair line... Time to buy some worthers originals and talk about how everything was better in my day.

Is it just me or have you thought of a player or players, young or old, and realised time has been catching up on you?

ok see edited above, but also when father sons first started, like Libba.

In fact I remember being in Lygon st getting a coffee and Timmy Watson was carrying his son. That made me feel old

Like what Bornadog said, when sons get drafted and start playing, Bruce Reid's sons (unfortunately not with us), Mark Hunter, Tony Libba, Steve Wallis's son etc.

Oh, I hadn't put that together myself. But now you mention it, yep.

When you have seen a players full career is the first sign, then when you go to family days and realise your asking fir autographs your children's age.

Try realising you went to school with the older brother of the mum of the player you just drafted.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Yes when you remember when Steve Wallis was drafted and then you watch Mitch get drafted and starts playing. That and an extra 20 kg around the middle
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

When you attended the last Grand Final the doggies were in. Now that is old and I can remember it too!

Like everyone else, when we drafted young Libba, Wallis, Hunter etc.

But also at a Social Club function when Robbie Murphy gave me a hug (as he always does) and a group of older ladies, commented that must be his mother. Ouch. But then I would be proud to have him as my son.

I'm not sure how old it necesaarily makes me, but I had a similar moment a month or so ago when I realised I'm older than Dale Morris. I'd always thought of him as that mature type of person, senior voice around the club, and family man. Never even thought he could younger than me.

1961 day Grand Final. I was 10 years old. Still remember that famous flick pass.

I was also 10 years old in 1961 but that does not have any revelance to being old. I am actually as young today as I will ever be.
