Poor bloke. At least I missed 54 by a long way, did they have the GF parade in the day?

Not so much feeling old, but when people my age started getting drafted I knew my AFL dreams were over. Even worse, people my age drafted last year were being called mature aged recruits (!).

          No Grand Final parade then.

We are talking about in a footy sense I think Joe. That's how I read the thread.

Re: When did you realise you were 'old'?

I don't really compare against footballers. I mean, 30 years old and they're being spoken about as if they're 80. Sure, it bothers me sometimes that I'm the same age as Gia “the fossil”, but then I think, I don't have the gray hairs, so fair's fair. And let's face it, the guy is turning 32 next month. Spring chicken.

Aside from football, I think music is what makes me feel old. When kids ask me who Alice Cooper, Deep Purple, The Who, etc. were. But again, I think to myself, “They're listening to guys like Beiber.” So fair's fair.

              Forever young!!

Re: When did you realise you were 'old'?

Few years back I went out with a couple of mates for and ale, we ended up in a city pub and when I looked around I thought everyone but us was underage.
Now I have one Pup with a drivers licence and the second on his L's and they look the same age as the kids did in the pub.

I also played my first game of cricket in years last week and after keeping for 40 overs and having a bat I certainly felt the oldest I ever have the following days.

I won't bother with a separate thread, but along the same lines. When did you realise you were tall/small?

I don't think of my height, but at 172cm, I hate hearing about these midgets running around up in the AFL who are taller than I.

                    Midget

It took me a long time to work out I am a genuinely big guy. I was 175cm at 16, 188cm at 17, and finished on 190cm. I kept thinking of people who were taller than me as being average. It was probably only when I was at university and I had people I didn't know refer to me as big fella when first meeting them that I started to work it out.

I'm 192cm and still feel short: I'm one of the shortest men in my family.

I am your height. But don't worry, you know what they say, the bigger they are the harder they fall.

Nothing to do with footy, but two of our new teachers at work were students when I started there! That makes me feel old.
