Really nice, low key send off. Probably what he wanted for the kind of guy he is. The only cricketer I've seen who could deliver the same massive highs and sense of 'freak show' as Warnie did with the ball

How has Mitch Marsh gone in the two test matches so far? Is he doing enough to justify his spot?

Would've been nice for one last over.

I don't think he's a six in that if he comes in at 4/40, you're not confident he can hold his wicket.
Comes in at 4/300 he's more comfortable
          Probably a 7 for me

Very low key. Announcing his retirement before the last day. Certainly seems to put the team first and then himself. He also speaks really really well. A very humble man.

NIce gesture by McCullum and his team when Johnson came out to bat.

There was some talk that he would be a future captain (one of the commentators on Nine). He will be lucky to hold his spot IMO - in saying that I reckon the selectors will persist but he really needs to string some decent performances together.

I am not impressed one bit. He has failed with the bat and has done slightly better with the ball. He needs to improve dramatically for the Adelaide test.

There is some speculation that Glenn Maxwell might in contention for the next test and I'm not sure if that means he is to replace Marsh, Khwaja, or Johnson assuming we want an extra part time spinner.

I think we are too invested in Marsh's all-round potential to actually drop him but he doesn't make a compelling selection.

I don't think dropping him impacts our investment. He obviously has talent but just isn't developed enough to produce it consistently at Test level. A bit more development time seems in order to me. With Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney to come, a straight swap for Maxwell as a No.6/2nd spinner all rounder seems a pretty logical move for mine.

The Marsh's don't have to justify their spot with performances - they just get the greatest arm chair ride into being selected for Australia ever seen.

And S.Marsh, Pattinson and Steve O'Keefe named in the squad for Adelaide.

Almost like a holy trinity of blokes who get a leg up into the side without doing too much!

When are we next going to India or Sri Lanka? I can see Gurvinder Sandhu being a wildcard to make the next tour of the sub-continent with his ability to bowl fast-medium and off-spin, in the Funky Miller mould. Can hold a bat too for a tailender.

Doesn't hurt that he's from NSW

The Marsh selection is pointless but completely predictable.

I think Fawad Ahmed is unlucky to miss out to O'Keefe, although it's probably unlikely that they will play 2 spinners anyway.

What more could Pattinson have done? He's been bowling well, has performed well for Australia in the past, not sure who is more deserving of a spot than him?

Well Shaun Marsh will either be a raging success or an unmitigated disaster.
                              That's he's career in a nutshell.
Fawad Ahmed once again is very stiff.Pattinson picks himself, and where's Siddle?
