Flicked over as the Aussie tennis player choked up a bit. That's the most bizarre dismissal ever! A head but run out after deflection from the non striker. Hopefully the young lady is back ahead now.

I'll preface this by saying that I've read very little of the 10 pages of this thread - so my apologies if I'm repeating what others have said.

But I'm loving the BBL. I never thought I would get in to 20/20 cricket - and I certainly could not care less about international t20 cricket or the IPL. But the competition for me has been set up spectacularly well for the xmas/new years break.

We are usually staying with family in the country for a good 2-3 weeks over xmas/new years - and for me its perfect, that once our young kids are in bed, we settle in to dinner, a few beers and take in the big bash each night. Its good fun, you get a result in 3 hours, plenty of close finishes and the game can change so quickly with a wicket or a six. I'm taking my 5 year old next Monday night to the renegades next match - and I imagine that all of the other 'entertainment' at the ground will probably take his focus as much or more than the cricket. But hopefully this, and milo cricket, help him along to being a cricket fan and participant.

You better not read Sedats posts then.

Wow Khawaja is in the whitest of white hot form. He's just effortlessly stroking boundaries off nearly every ball. Just incredible at the moment.

The best thing about Khawaja's T20 innings' is that they arefull of traditional cricket shots. He scored his runs by finding gaps rather than trying to smash every ball out of the park.

Jeez you never know what the BBL will throw up. Lehmann hits a 6 off 1 ball innings to win the game on the last ball. Has anyone ever completed an innings with a strike rate of 600, I'd reckon that's got to be a first.

Those new tangled bats are like ball cannons.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

I reckon that's one aspect of the modern game that needs review. With smaller boundaries, tighter calls on bouncers and wides and massive, powerful bats, the contest between bat and ball is too skewed. I wince every time a mishit sails for 6 (be it BBL, 50 over or Test).

I know the powers that be like lots of sixes, but I would prefer a more balanced contest. I wonder if ball manufacturers coming up with a more seaming/swinging ball would balance things a little, or would a simple tightening of bat regulations do the job?

I like this idea of yours for a ball that swings/seams more. It would certainly sort a few techniques out.

Chris Lynn is up there with Gilchrist and Symonds as the cleanest Australian ball striker I've ever seen. Insane hitting, should be in the one day setup

Anyone who can hit five consecutive sixes can play.

Chris Gayle fastest 50, off just 12 balls. Some big hitting from Chris and finished with 56 off 17.
