Went very quickly today from “let’s get out of the FA Cup and concentrate on staying up” to “WE WERE RIPPED OFF”. A draw and a replay was probably Wolves worst case scenario though.

I don't get the replay, just go to pens. Did Manure put put a second string side?

I was up at 5 watching the toon remind us the depth just isn't there.
Was such a flash back to the Ashley era seeing Lascelles constantly in the wrong position and coughing it up.
Was great for the Wednesday supporters, I don't like Sheffield much (the city) however their supporters are real.
Clear from the team we put our priorities lay elsewhere.

We played Liverpool, and they put out a stronger side than we did. We started largely back ups, but played really well. To be fair Alison couldn’t have done more to assist our first goal than if he had of put it in the net himself, but we scored a winner which was called offside on the field and couldn’t be overruled because they didn’t have the right angle. Fair to say that still shots don’t support the call.

I see us constantly referred to as big spending, and though that's true relative to our usual status we're going to have to spend a whole lot more if we want to play league, cups and European football at a reasonable/ consistent level. Focusing on the PL and hopefully using that as a vehicle to attract more depth has to be the priority.

Newcastle through to league cup semi finals for first time since 1976!

Great to see local Dan Burn score the opener.

Man Utd through to the Semi finals of the League Cup. A solid 3-0 over Charlton Athletic. A real opportunity for us to get some silverware. I wonder if will meet Newcastle in the semis?

Man City just got booted out, lost to Southampton.

Semi finals are played over two legs home and away should be great.

Not sure how they determine who plays who.

Edit: It's a draw that will be happening right about now.

                    Nottingham Forrest
                    Newcastle
                    Southampton
                    Manchester United

                    are the semi finalists.

                    It's :

                    Southampton v Newcastle
                    Forrest v Manutd

First leg at the team listed first.

Pretty annoyed with Wolves loss this morning. Awful first 35, then improved markedly and should have had them before pens, but c'est la vie.

Newcastle, pretty good odds for a Cup final you'd reckon. Can't see Saints being competitive over 2 legs despite today's result.
Forest's keeper can't play as he's on loan from Utd, so they're pretty ****ed as he's their best player.

Good to see a 23 year old Aussie lad in goal for Charlton as well - Ashley Maynard-Brewer. Wonderful experience for him.

Good stuff. I don’t think there are any current Australian players in the EPL at the moment. Charlton were very solid EPL team under Alan Curbishbly for many years. Be cool to see them come back up again.

Garang Kuol signed with Newcastle United, he has been loaned out to Hearts in the SPL. (more Aussies in Scotland).

I think it's the best outcome for Newcastle. Haven't been in a cup final since 1999 I believe (fa), or league cup semi since 1976.

Howe is bringing the feels back to the city.
