This years marks the 50th anniversary of these two meeting in the 1974 FA Cup Final.
I just watched the game on youtube and one surprise was the fact that the two managers, Bill Shankley and Joe Harvey sat right beside each other on the sideline. Like not a foot apart. Shoulder to shoulder. Very self controlled considering the feral 70's crowd all around them.

Fulham beat Man Utd on penalties 4-3 and go through to the quarter finals of the FA Cup after it ended 1-1 in normal time. Disappointing as that was an opportunity to win some silverware. It just sums up our season. Only chance now for us is the Europa League.

I was dancing around the house and constantly chatting to my Geordie in laws who were all in tears.

Not quite like the Dogs as we won the biggest prize, but winning something after being the butt of jokes for 60 years must be amazing to long suffering fans.

Well done to the Geordies GG and Jeemak. Had it over us for the whole game. Loved the crowd shots during the game and especially towards the end. And loved seeing Shearer, one of my favourites of the 90's going off. The north east is going to be going off until next season.
