Raonic played very well last night going down in 5 but picked up an injury in the 4th set which was a big setback for him. His serve is impressive.

Cracking final. Kerber threw the Kitchen Sink at Williams, who was incredibly gracious in defeat.

One of the best women's finals I have seen. Really happy for Kerber to win her first grand slam.

Equally surprising how gracious in defeat Serina Williams was.

Fantastic game. Kerber was brilliant, although aided by a huge number of unforced errors from Williams. As Azabob has stated, Williams was very gracious in defeat.

Agree there azabob. She would of been very dissapointed with the loss but was a great sport.

Just started watching the men's final.

Novak dominant so far in the first set. He is serving for the set now.

Can Murray get back in it. Will be tough. Novak peaking.

Murray fought hard in the next 2 sets but Djokovic too good in 3 sets claiming the first grand slam of the year.

What I saw was his mannerisms and carry on when he was playing well in the third and in some patches in the fourth.

He plays tennis as if it's Summadayze or Stereosonic, and he's showing off in front of his posse to really bad commercial house music.

I appreciate he's young, but as a 20 year old he seems to have the maturity of a barely pubescent teen.
Agree with all of this, but then the same people trashing Kyrgios for his idiotic behaviour are idolising Hewitt, who at 34yo still feels the need to call umpires 'morons' during matches. The blatant double-standard never ceases to amuse me.

What i find even more amusing is the people praising Hewitt most likely were trashing him when he first came on the scene.

These people love the way he plays, so feel the need to defend his antics. He was a very worthy player who extracted as much out of his ability as possible, but a dickhead it still a dickhead. And now this dickhead is going to mentor all our young dickheads.

Having agreed with all of it, I'm ecstatic that you got the Summadayze/Stereosonic analogy then Sedat!

The Hewitt love is confounding. A fair portion of it is generated by media outlets who are benefiting from his services.
                            TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

He's safe, marketable and very white. A bit of a no-brainer for our media outlets, who all still party like it's the 1950's.

I think that is a sad but true observation. And it's not just the media either. This attitude really came to the fore in the Rafter v Phillipoussis era.

A Hewitt's shortcomings will be forgiven long before a Tomic/Kyrgios/Phillipoussis/Dokic for many parts of Australian society.
