Thanks for jinxing them. At stumps four wickets down and still behind by fourteen runs.

You would think only Williamson can really be a problem for Australia.

They certainly need to build a lead of about 200 to make it difficult and Williamson will need probably half of them.

There are a few of their tail who seem to occasionally score some cavalier runs but nothing reliable from anyone other than Williamson.

NZ 4/197 at lunch, effectively 4/62. Huge session coming up - if NZ can navigate it with the loss of only 1 wicket, this test will go down to the wire. Any lead over 250 will be tricky to chase down.

That was a really enjoyable session of Test cricket. Australia bowled really well, threw everything at NZ who stood doggedly. Williamson is such a class act.

I love test match cricket more than any other form of sport and this has been a cracking test match so far. Smith and Voges rescuing Australia after McCullum's efforts on day one and now the whole thing is poised so precariously. We've have had 8 days of competition and now it comes down to which side can keep it's nerve and perform over the next couple of hours.

Bird has taken 3 wickets in 2 overs with the new ball straight after lunch - Kiwis now 7/225 with Williamson out. They are about 125 runs short of mounting a competitive total.

Another twist - NZ's 8th wicket partnership now over 100 and the lead is 176. They are 7/311 at tea and still have 3 wickets in the shed.

This is why we love test cricket.

This is turning into a classic Test with a 101 run unbroken partnership getting NZ back to effectively 7/176. Game back on after we got 3 early wickets that session and looked to be cruising.

Good competitive effort by the Kiwis.

They do show the value of a positive approach.

201 to get. You'd think Aussies favourites but anything over 200 in a 4th innings is always enough to make things interesting.

20 odd overs left today will tell the tale. You'd think NZ need 3 wickets to make things tight.
