Agree on Bruce. He's still my favourite overall commentator. He does a fantastic job with athletics and the Melbourne Cup.

I do concur his calling on football matches has declined, but I still enjoy listening to him. He at least has some genuine excitement in his voice (although it can be over the top for Cyril etc). I find Commetti and others very monotone and boring.

My great Grandmother came from Jamaica so i can root as loud as i like when he wins.


Is there a sportsman in the world who does it as easily as him? he is just strolling across the line in all those finishes.

Re basketball semi final tomorrow morning (4 30), does anyone know which channel it will be on? As i'm working most days, i have been trying to record specific events overnight. For the previous game, channel 7 said it was going to be on '7two'. So the next morning i sat down to watch the recording. Imagine my delight when at qtr time they announced ' if you wish to keep watching the basketball, switch to '7'. And with that they crossed to the 800 m HEATS which featured NO AUSTRALIANS!!!

You would expect that it would be on 7 as the interest in Australia will far outweigh any other events. That said who knows? The quarter final started on 7mate and switched to 7 after the first quarter I think. I missed the first couple of minutes of the second quarter before I noticed. No idea what channel the USA game will be on.

You would expect that it would be on 7 as the interest in Australia will far outweigh any other events. That said who knows? The quarter final started on 7mate and switched to 7 after the first quarter I think. I missed the first couple of minutes of the second quarter before I noticed. No idea what channel the USA game will be on.

I don't really trust it to be on Ch7 given that it falls at the same time as their morning show. Its a bit of a dodgy time of day where the sport of the most interest tends to get bumped to 72 or (most likely) 73.

Fun fact: The leading scorers in the Serbia-Croatia match were Bogdanovic.

Really looking forward to the match. Serbia rated 6, Australia 11 although we beat them in the group game. Maybe they had some leading players out. My knowledge is Serbian basketballers is zilch.

Agreed, showing a quarter of the Boomers v Lithuania before switching...and showing the match last night in full! Idiocy. Meanwhile they show hours and hours of stupid rowing, and oh how exciting last night to see the BMX riding.

They didn't have players out but it was a much closer match than the end score indicates - we were only 4 points up with 2 minutes to play. They pushed the USA all the way as well, only missing a shot on the buzzer to tie it up. It won't be an easy game for the Boomers but hopefully if they keep playing the way they have been it will be enough.
