Re: RIP Max 'Tangles' Walker

Very very sad news. Putting aside the at times buffoonish character he played, he was a lion hearted bowler for Australia.Western Bulldogs: We exist to win premiershipsComment

Re: RIP Max 'Tangles' Walker

I was shocked when I heard this as he lived near by me and I often passed him on my walks and said hello to him. Really lovely bloke.

About 5 years ago my daughters school (Girls school), had a Beef and Burgundy night for all the dads and Max was the guest speaker. He could sure talk and tell stories, and they practically couldn't get him off the stage, but he was very entertaining.

Condolences to his family and friends.FFC: Established 1883

Re: RIP Max 'Tangles' Walker

When I was a kid he was number six or seven on the list of Australian wicket takers, just behind Hugh Trumble. I think they said on a SEN he took 137 wickets. They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.Comment

But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.Comment

I remember he was the face of wide world of sports for years. Such a lovable charactor. Aussie sport lost a legend today.

Re: RIP Max 'Tangles' Walker

Terribly underrated as a bowler as he did a lot of the donkey work into the wind when DK and Thommo were in their prime
Awfully sadComment
