Wade looked pretty ordinary today. We just don't seem to have two decent keepers to rub together in the entire country.

Watching the big bash there are some decent keepers in that. They are probably overseas players anyway.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Handscomb & Khawaja should be consider for the ODIs too, despite not being all rounders.

Now there is a good option in the longer term.

We do have some good keepers but they're not playing for their states in the shield. Paine and Ludeman are good with the gloves but aren't being selected and Whiteman is playing for WA and must be close to being recognised. Hartley is excellent with the gloves but might be regarded as too old. We have some options other than just Neville or Wade.

Neville isn't an option AFAIC. Wade is getting closer to unselectable with his dropped catch today. He just can't afford to make mistakes like that especially if he's not contributing with the bat.

Interesting stat that Sydney had the most rained out days by a fair margin compared to other states .
Maybe next time Jim Maxwell should be calling for a roof at the scg and not the mcg .

Wickets falling early. Lyon and Hazelwood have 2 wickets each and Pakistan are 4 for 86.

Night watchman is still there so it's 4 top order batsmen we've knocked over too.

If Cummins & Pattinson keep Bird out of the side, have him the 12th man. He's taken some great catches for a quick bowler, he's a natural fielder in the gully to quicks and spinners, as well as a good outfielder.

                      Thoughts on that review?

                      Seems pretty dubious to me.

Dubious, but consistent. Smith's second innings third umpire reviewed out decision was the same with no hot spot and only a tiny blip.

Ian Gould strikes again. That was an appalling interpretation of clearly inconclusive technology. He must have a tee-off time to get to later this arvo.

That was my thought. Could have been anything with such a small blip and unclear if it occurred when the ball beat the bat or after.

Agreed, the technology was supposed to stop the howling decisions. This is making a farce of it.
