Handscomb has hasn't been behind the stumps in shield cricket since 2015. He just hasn't done enough work so no

No chance. GVG is right, he hasn't put in the hours.

Khawaja dropped and in comes Cartwright. Australia has gone in with 3 spinners, OKeefe replacing Hazelwood.

Bangas batting, Lyon with two wickets, 2/64

Maxwell batting at 5 is a risk reward situation.

Lyon 4 wickets and Agar 1 so far but the Bangers are edging back into a decent position.
SOK hasn't even bowled a maiden in his 11 overs.

I see what you did there.

The roll eyes isn't for you. It's for the Australian selectors, a body of men whom I didn't think it possible would fall any lower in my estimation. Then last week came along.

In a stronger position now providing the likes of Maxwell, Cartwright and Wade can contribute with decent scores

2 for 142 but a long way to go.

2/225 at stumps. Richie would have loved that.

Warner on 88 with 4 fours. Off 170 balls.

Strange but great hard worked test innings from Warner.
Something you didn't think he was capable of but big kudos to him today.

This might be the innings that makes Warner into the great player he can be. Treating the Bangers with respect and no doubt fighting the urge to play his shots is a big breakthrough.

He must be modelling his game on "thrasher" Handscomb at the other end.

Handscomb and renshaw are true test batsman Australia hasn't seen for years. Value and protect their wickets like true batsman should.

Geez Handscombe battled through some physical duress last night. Will be interesting how he pulls up and reapplies himself at the start of play.

Reports said he lost 4.5kg whilst batting which can't be good for someone who is already quite lean.
