Being that Usman won't get selected in the sub continent, if he can't make big runs in Sydney I think that's him gone forever. I'm not sure I'd back Handscomb to come in soon either. I'd love a Renshaw today to bat for three sessions. Our batting stocks are really bad, taking out Smith & Warner.

Our bowling stocks look limited too with injuries. I hope we go passed SoK for a second spinner and Bird looked horrible. Hopefully Pattinson gets fit, but I won't hold my breath either.

      Re: The Ashes 2017/18

As I write its lunch and Bancroft and Uzi are back in the sheds with Warner and Smith at the crease. I can't help thinking that I would have loved watching Renshaw bore me silly today by batting through three sessions.

The selectors seem to put a lot of stock in the ability to score quickly. Our batting line up is short on spine. I certainly don't like seeing figures like Woakes's 6-3-9-1 because I worry the Australian batsmen will try and knock him out of the attack rather than put their heads over the ball and wear him out.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Yeah safe to say Bancroft has been a failure so far.
Handscomb already dropped, Uzi and Bancroft in the firing line and I'd still be surprised if Mitch Marsh can be good enough with the bat.

Surprising position to be in when up 3-0

          Suprised? I'd be stunned.

I'm OK with Bancroft in the side. He has the application to bat through sessions and we need that. Sydney could be the decider for him though. I'd have no problems with Renshaw coming back by the way.

Our next series is against South Africa so I can see the selectors sticking with Khawaja

Heh! I thought you must have meant Smarsh rather than Mitch.
