I reckon they should have picked Lionel Mash for the tour and to replace Clarke.

I want to see the headline, "Smasher Mash Bashes 100" or "Lionel has the final say"

      It's not Lionel, it's Lloyd?

He would be Smasher Mash the same way it was Slasher Mackay or Bluey Hampshire.

            Katich out.

Lucky not to be out first ball but looked good after that.

            12 off 11 balls

Have never felt so indifferent to an Aussie wicket falling. Do i laugh at his failure or cry for the team?

We are in a solid position after losing some quick wickets early on.

Another great century to Ponting. Hodge was put down on about 16 by the keeper.

If Hodge were to make a hundred what would happen in these scenarios.

a)Clarke plays second test but not Hayden. (would he or Katich be dropped and if Katich then who opens)

b)Hayden and Clarke both play next test (surely he will be dropped even with a hundred)

They dropped Hodge 2 games after 200 why not after a lousy 100?

                      Fair enough.

Fiidel Edward was impressive early. For someone who hasn't bowled since March.

Re: Australia vs the West Indies

I have been watching a bit of this test this morning and the bowling of Mitchell Johnson has been very poor. He has sprayed it around way too much and amongst some good deliveries there has been some real shockers. Australian cricket normally revolves around good tight bowling to the opening batsman and at the moment Johnson is letting the side down badly.

The Australian batsman let themselves down a bit. Hodge failed to go on with yesterdays effort and the tail offerred litte support to Symonds who made a good 70.

I will be interested to see how MacGill goes with the ball.

Haddin's first catch in test cricket was a ripper and the WI are now 2 for 62. Clark has 2 for 9 into his 5th over.

No surprise that Clark bowled so well given the type of wicket.

I was extremely impressed with the West Indies fielding (aside from one dropped catch on the boundry) from what I've seen of the test.

After leading by about 130 with the first innings Australia are now 4 for 12 in the second innings. The WI are now in a great position to win this one and taking nothing from the opposition it would be a humbling loss for the Australians.

Hayden would be perfect in this situation.
