We've softly banned a few over the journey without going public about it, and to me Norf going public versus our never complain never explain attitude was a bit off.

If I was in the Norf hierarchy I'd have just installed the ban, and not commented on it. I guess they're in dire straits though and need to deliver every signal to their fans that they're standing up for themselves.

AFL media and AFL player managers would be fairly and squarely in my sights if I was a strategic leader in clubland.

The clubs have been fooled into thinking over time favours can help offset a commercial pecking order, and it's bullshit. No amount of favours can fix the inequities in the game so why waste resources on pretending they might?

If you put up the shutters you become more attractive to the media. If you starve the media you stifle the player managers that thrive on the hyperbole. It'd take a while but the benefits would be similar to what we're experiencing at the moment. Our media engagement strategy has been excellent over the years.

And since Cornes sprouts a LOT of things that turn out to be untrue, well...the opportunities are there.

I agree 100% that he's there to win arguments, rather than actually tease out a story and develop factual opinions. He prepares for them, plays the Devil's Advocate, understands the counter points, or develops a strawman and by the time it's done and dusted nobody's interested in facts anymore, rather, they focus on who won the battle.

He also has the benefit of preparing his lines, and putting people on the spot. While most people who go him do so on the basis he's being a ****wit, he's already prepared and able to manipulate the discourse away from him being a ****wit.

Craig 'Hutchy' Hutchinson is the next one on my shit list when in fact he's rarely been off it.
As an innovator of sports shows and concepts he's been very impressive because he was a leader in the growth of footy shows and concepts like Trade Radio and a 24/7 sports radio stations around Australia
As a person he's clearly as shifty as a shit house rat and has done the dirty on a wide range of people.
He panders to a select few like Gerard Whateley who's obviously a skilled presenter but then has a couple of lazy cherry pickers in Garry and Tim that do SFA and has talentless hacks like Miles Pfitzner occupying time on the air.
He shat on Mark Allan and David Schwartz, should have found something decent for KB during the Whateley coup, did the dirty on Mark Robinson who he and Pickers keep having a crack at and now it appears he doesn't have anything decent for Adam White at the same time he resurrected the career of that slimy Tom Morris.
Where are the female commentators Craig? They're at least 50% of your audience.
He's nothing more than a corporate stooge who doesn't listen to the audience.
He's got way ahead of himself and I can't see it lasting.

I've got to go back to Hutchy. He has purchased RSN and has announced Harf and Felgate won't have jobs going forward...well they might get something.
His solution is to stream SEN commentary into RSN. That's another poor solution.
